I know this is a newb question, but what is the best way to remove the fork reflectors on my 696? I just got done painting the headlight bracket and removing the turn signal extensions(much better), etc, but I don't want to screw up the shocks. I tried prying on them a little, but those suckers are on there good!

Thanks

attack it with a hair dryer then some degreaser if you have. it should come off much easier then.

Raux

dental floss for a cutter, followed by WD40 on a rag to take off the goo.

teddy037.2

park it it the sun and come back out after a few beers, pop 'em off.

goo-gone, or rubbing alcohol, or WD-40 to get the last bits of sticky off.

Goldeneye

Don't pry, too easy to mar the fork legs.

Just give 'em a good twist.   [thumbsup]

Then you can clean the residue with WD.

I really pussed out on that one...Decided to man-up on them and got them off, no prob! Thanks for the replies.

I prefer a 5 pound one handed for the small jobs like this.
Who insures the FDIC?

Buy new forks without the reflector option.

You guys are funny... ;D I'm thinking about just removing the forks all together next time and replacing with a couple of reflecorless coat hangers...Or I'll just stop asking dumb questions! [thumbsup]

I'll give ya the number of my ex wife. Just tell her the reflectors belong to me. There will be no trace of them by morning.
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.
