I ordered these http://www.podiumsuperbike.com/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=28 and should receive them tomorrow.
I asked the guy if I needed anything else and he said I shouldn't.  Now I'm finding out that I need to purchase bar ends according to this thread http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=14856.0
Will these work?  http://www.podiumsuperbike.com/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=7
Or do I have to go with the Rhinomoto bar ends?  If I need to go with the Rhinomoto bar ends where's the cheapest place I can find them.  Thanks!

The mirrors will fit the bar ends, they ARE made for each other Wink

The bar ends will fit on bars with anything from 12 to 19 mm inside diameter (so they say). I'm quite, if not completely, sure the 696 bars will be within that range. Check it first, don't trust me - avoid future surprises waytogo

And of course - welcome to the DMF [moto]

interesting that the web site does not specify if the mirrors come with the internal mount or not....i guess since they sell it separately, that answers the question.

in any event, when i bought my crg LS mirrors the purchase price included the internal adapters shown in the last link. of course, i dont know the internal diameter of the 696 bars..........but i imagine they should. and as long as the fit inside the bars, they work great.

Thanks for the replies.  I don't know why the sales guy didn't think I needed them.  I'll place my order tonight.

Thanks for welcoming me to the boards.  I've been lurking for a while.  Bought my M696 May 31st of last year.  I'm barely getting around to modding it.  These mirrors were a necessity as the stock ones were constantly coming loose due to vibration.

I did this mod, bought both pieces, the mirror and the insert, looks great, I see more behind, and they never move.

Enjoy!!

You only need the adapters if you don't want to move everything inward on the bars.  If you want to keep everything on the bars as it is the adapters are necessary.  I installed them last week.  It took about 5 minutes and the visibility is great.
