What the hell hit me?

I was riding home from my sister's place tonight and all of a sudden something that looked like a ping pong ball sized chunk of dirt came flying at from the right. I expected it to be coming from a car and judged the arc and decided a didn't need to move but it still hit me! Didn't hurt, just caught me by surprise and hit me a little above my pocket. When I got home I inspected the remnants left on my pants it kinda looks like bug splatter. I'm thinking it was a giant moth. Didn't expect to see anything like flying over a 4 lane freeway.

What's the biggest thing that hit you/ you hit? I've finished a ride w/ more than a few butterflies splattered over the visor and a butterfly stuck in my air vent. At least they're squishy and don't knock you back like a june bug. Those things are like hitting a rock.

I had a two inch single link of chain fly off the back of a truck and smash my windshield in my cage. I'm VERY thankful I wasn't on the bike. That would have make the beast with two backsed me up.

I had a bird smash into the windshield of my car. if that wasn't weird enough, it happened again about an hour later. i shit you not, 2 birds in one day. left just a puff of feathers in my rearview both times.

I had a chunk of asphalt drop off a dump truck and nail me on the local beltway. Thank God it wasn't cement. I broke into pieces on impact but did break my headlight. Pissed me off something fierce.

I had a very large beetle hit me the other day. the worst part is that his spiky appendage was able to grab hold of the fabric of my summer-tech jacket.
It's a little distracting to catch something crawling around on you out of your peripheral vision. Next red light I took care of it.

I had a bird hit my helmet. I was riding across a bridge in the left lane about to pass an 18wheeler and out of nowhere a bird took a dive and skimmed off my helmet.

Had a (thankfully short) piece of 2x4 fly up and hit me on the leg on the freeway. I was very glad for my protective armor.

Also had some large bug, think a bumblebee, smack me on the nose the other day on a bicycle ride, going about 30 mph.

Theres two things i remember most significantly. one was the sidewall of a rubber tire from a econoline van.

The other one.... i was going down a large avenue in the city and doing about 45-50 and i had my visor up since i had sunglasses in, and something strikes me in the forehead, it make the beast with two backsing hurt, and i had some blood, thought it was the beak from a bird that hit me. i thought nothing of it, until my head started buzzing, and i was hearing things. Couldnt figure out what it was, but i kept on riding to my friends house nearby. I stop and take of my helmet and a dragon fly falls out of my head twitching around.

Two worst I have had:
1) On a Harley, I had a small piece (maybe 9"x12") of plywood shoot up in front of me. I toe-punched it doing about 75mph. A couple inched higher and it could have taken out my shin or knee.
2)I took a bee sting right on the neck at about 30mph.

bee stings while riding really suck. Nailed a big bumble right in the left side of neck, just underneath my MX helmet.

About a year ago I hit something similar, but this was in flight. all that was left were what looked like spider legs on my head light. Then about a week later in our garage I saw this spider like thing go running across our garage floor - really fast!!!!!

Turns out it was something similar to an Arizona wind spider. Not scary, but gross!!!! I couldn't even bring myself to kill it when I saw it run out of the garage because it was so wierd looking.

LOL. Next time though, it's dead like the one that hit my bike!!!!!

I had a bird do a kamikaze attack on me last summer. I saw it coming at me out of the corner of my eye and knew I was going to hit it. I tucked in a bit and took it in the shoulder. It felt like I hit a big rock, but no damage to me.

Golf Ball - some hacker sliced his drive out-of-bounds directly into the front of my helmet. Didn't see it coming and it felt like I had hit a grapefruit.....took about 15 seconds to figure out what had happened, and it smashed the vent lever....
