Healthy Snacks
«

What do you guys eat as helathy big snacks/ small meals that arent loaded with garbage? Something thats filling, low fat, under 800 calories, and low sugar?
on my list so far..
1) can of tuna, tsp of olive oil, loads of ms dash, and a handful of crushed crackers.
2) Whole grain penne/shells/etc with 1tsp of olive oil 1tsp of peanut oil, 5-6 pieces of shrimp, salt pepper, garlic and green onions.
3) smoked salmon on those whole grain breads with nuts and stuff inside them, crushed almonds spread ontop with a some butter.
Stuff gets old. need more ideas! Been realizing if i eat dinner at normal 6-7pm, im starving by 3am. and i cant sleep. need a snack in between.

ice chips.
jk.
I just made the best thing ever. No idea how many calories. Regulate with ingredient amounts:
*Frozen mixed berries.
*protein powder (I like chocolate, you can get the lose weight kind, or the gain weight kind)
*a little peanut butter
*ice
*soy milk / fruit juice.
*banana
blend - very filling, very energizing, very healthy
I use a submersible hand held blender. cleans up in 1 minute.
PS. Part of loosing weight/getting in shape is feeling hungry, weak etc. We get trained to over fill sometimes. That feeling of 'omg I'm going to burst' from over eating has become the norm.
It's good to just feel hungry. It's not damaging. It resets our caloric intake clock. It doesn't last long. After a while you don't get as hungry feeling.

One other thing I can't recommend enough:
Ve
gg
ie
Ju
ic
er
!!!
Talk about massive vitamins/energy/ healthy X1000 without the calories/fat/bad carbs. DING!
Carrot juice - fresh pressed - gives me more energy than coffee without the crash after.
If you're eating less and feeling weak and tired from it. Bingo.
You can get really crazy with recipes: There are lots of books on it.
*Carrots, apples, + a stone fruit, peach or what-ev (dessert)
*Carrots, beats, celery, TABASCO - (lunch - serious yum. )
*Carrots, radishes, fennel, cabbage. (May be negative caloric intake)
There are certain combinations that actually produce a negative calorie intake because they require more calories to digest than you get from them. Cabbage is one. However, you are getting massive nutrients this way. More so than you would from chewing up these same foods. Chewing is only 25% efficient in breaking the cell walls of veggies releasing the nutrients inside. Jiucers get more like 85% efficiency. Hence, more nutrients per pound juicing. You get all the energy, health, not the calories.
If you want to get crazy, then take all the carrot mash from the juicer and make a soup or carrot bread.
PS Get a juicer that's easy to clean. You'll use it way more often. One that doesn't have a bunch of nooks and crannies that you can't get to.
I highly recommend taking a couple displays apart in a store and seeing how quick it is to assemble/clean etc.

Apples. I love apples. I guess other fruits or veggies would be good. Grapes. Bananas. Bacon.
Oh, wait.
