Or, why not to stop after punching off the mirrors of the car that cut you off.

Question is

Should you punch off their mirrors because they obviously do not  use them when they cut you off?

or

Should you NOT punch off their mirrors because maybe they need them and need to learn how to use them.

I say , their car didn't do anything to you, leave the car alone.....punch the driver.

no no no...just kidding, just kidding.............um.....yeah      just kidding

True story.  About 5 months ago, I'm going to work, 5:45 am, I travel 4 miles down a perfectly straight 2 lane road that illegal alien farm workers use to get to the fields.   I'm on the CBR900RR about 50 ft back of a car, as we come up to a dirt road coming up to the road I'm on, a VW Jetta, obviously beater field car is coming up at the same time as me and the car in front of me.   I know what he is going to do (by the way, I always ride with my highbeam on when the sun is coming up), he looks right at me and pulls out behind the car in front of me, and we are doing 50-60 mph.  I saw it coming, and moved over to go around, when he moves over on me and comes up to and across the center line, which pissed me off.  He tried to block me, not once, but twice.  I've noticed these 5 foot nothing little shits drive real bad, and have no respect for motorcycles, I guess they figure we can move out of the way.   Well, the second time, I came by real close at about 90 or 100, and punched his drivers mirror clean off.   He starts passing cars trying to chase me, so I pull over, and wait for him.  He sees me stop, and makes a u-turn and goes the other way.   That's the only time I've ever had to do anything like that in 30 something years on the street, I was pissed and ready to fire his ass up.  But hey, he has no insurance, no drivers license, no kind of Identification, what are the cops going to do?  I'll tell you, in this town, they will do nothing.  Agribusiness needs them and lets them do as they please.

wow. props for takin no shit is all i can say.

i was headin down mainst the other day downhill good gap between me and the truck in front of me. doin about the speed limit

lady sees truck go by, waits [forever] and pulls out just in front of me. really pissed bc slamming on the brakes in a cage is annoying, but on a bike its scary. (im 160lbs my suspension set up accordingly and i dive like a mfer when i panic brake)

i gave her the horn and the finger but if someone was being aggressive toward me i would love to punch their mirror clean off. bow to the biker i have no pity for cager who thinks not paying attention to the road is OK (or worse acting aggressive toward riders)

Appreciate your story but please leave the prejudice out of it. ;) That is one of the things that sets this board apart from others and we'd like it to stay that way.  [thumbsup]

If you drive the nicest car in the neighborhood, work in a cash business, and don't pay taxes, you're either a preacher or a drug dealer...

With some cars it might hurt and/or be extremely tough to do! Especially with a closed fist. For example, a 1985 Mercedes-Benz sedan, or other with an extremely solid and overbuilt mirror. That and it's going a bit too far. People carry guns nowadays, and I definitely wouldn't want to get shot when I could just pull over and swear in my helmet for a few minutes while the offensive cagers drove further on down the road. Road rage while seemingly irresistable at times is pointless and irrational and we must remember that. Things can get out of hand in a hurry.

Done.  Stupid kid didn't think he would have to stop at the light.  Kickstand down, walked up to his window... he took off like a bat out of hell, ran a red light, etc.  I didn't punch him, but he realized not to F with bikes.

People behind me were clapping and laughing.   But I will not do that again, I was lucky... I also can't believe I lost my cool over being cut off and brake checked.

Just remember, if you punch the mirrors off of a car and the driver is carrying and you are dead on the side of the road, your lesson didn't work.  [popcorn]

Really? just observation?
I didn't say this wouldn't make me really pissed.......it would, and I don't care for the way the immigration situation in this country stands, but I don't express it in this forum. I lose tens of thousands of dollars of work yearly because of it and have for a decade but this isn't the place for it. I'm not trying to criticize anyone here or be an ass. sorry for expressing my observations.

Gus Duc

That guy is going to learn an expenive lesson if the driver presses charges....... A buddy of mine did they same thing on his bicycle.  On the way to our Sat. ride, girl in a Volvo doesn't see him & almost kills him, she apologizes while he takes off the mirror.  He then procedes to the other side & knocks off the right one & rides off to meet us.  A mile into our warmup, a cop pulls us over, a group of 10 of us & 8 are wearing the same team kit & riding the same bike.  The officer tells us the story about the road rage & then starts laughing because we all fit the description.  Just as he's about to let us go, the other cop tells him to let us hang tight & the victim was on her way over with him.  That's when the guity party rolled forward & we rolled away....... I don't know how much it ended up costing him as he never spoke abouit it but I do know he was taken to jail, booked & not released until 9PM that night.

IMHO you should never destroy someone's property like that....... when someone's wronged you either call the cops or ride away...... it's not wise to anger people in 3,500  lb. cages when you're on a bicycle or a motorcycle & if you happen to be riding with a group, you put all of them in danger as well.

I'll get off my soapbox now, gear up & ride home.  Chances are I'll get cut-off at least once on the way home but if they don't hit me, I'm not stopping or flipping them off [cheeky]
