I really do - i try hard not to by pizza from the pizza hut / dominos / papa johns of the world as much as possible, but the wife slips up and we have to have it sometimes. really makes me feel bad for a manager at a store on the other side of the country who's business is heavily affected but he has done nothing wrong.

True, but that is the risk you pay buying a prepackaged brand of a franchise vs. building your own ...

Having worked at Domino's recently as a driver, I can say that this honestly doesn't surprise me giving the type of people you are forced to hire in order to do that job.

This would never have happened at the store I worked at because there was always a shift manager on the floor and most of the people who worked there were decent/great people.  The one's who weren't generally didn't last very long.

As for this happening at other places, I'm sure it does.  I heard a firsthand account about some guys working at Taco Bell pissing in the beef.  I just don't want to know what I'm eating.

There should be no risk, Adam. Maybe someone tainted your cheese, dough, sauce etc.....
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

?

I was referring to licensing someone else's brand and marketing it with a franchise - you have zero control over the marketing message, or of colossal CF's like this.  When you've bought into a brand name like Domino's / McD / Dunkin Donuts / whatever, you get loads of benefits - but also the risk that if something happens to the brand on a national level, you're screwed as a franchise owner.

Cheers,

You've got to feel for Dominos in this situation.  I bet it has cost them millions in the last couple of days.

I'd rather not.

A friend's 8 year old son was run over and killed by a Domino's delivery guy in their policy of delivering in 30 minutes or less.

Fvck Domino's.

Seems more like a horrible driver in that situation than the corporate policy causing problems.

honestly, this stuff is FUNNY, but not for the reasons you may think.

these two kids are MAJOR IDIOTS for 2 reason.

1. they taped it, how stupid could you be?   if nothing else the stupidity of taping something so stupid deserves a beat down.
2. they taped it, if you want to do something stupid and risk the consequences then do so at your own risk of a beat down from someone, but don't tape it, that just begs for a beat down when the person finds out about it.

[laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

remember its not EVERY employee that does this, its only 2 kids that were morons that do stupid stuff like that.  I'm sure if we taped the 2 morons in whatever job type you worked at that we could all then say "oh well obviously everyone in that profession is that way and its obvvious that the managers and the job caused that to happen, etc.".

KnightofNi

they weren't kids...they were 31 and 32 years old.

they are just morons.
Life, alas is very drear. Up with the glass and down with the beer!

I knew some delinquents that worked at Dominos...  It's too bad we didn't video that night

This is by no means confined to big chain fast food restaurants.  Unless you never go out to eat, it is highly unlikely that you have NOT eaten something disgusting at a restaurant or from take-out.

At the time it was a corporate-owned Domino's location and not a franchise.

I pictured the movie "Waiting ..." with Ryan Reynolds and Anna Farris reading this!   ;D
