I had my first LUGADUC experience on the freeway today, 5-10MPH for 15 minutes, quite painful, but I made it. I have a 14t sprocket in the front as well, can't imagine playing LUGADUC with a 15t, YIKES! Not built to go slow.

Sorry, as in to lug the engine, I was just thinking of what to call it while it was happening, and thought lug-a-duc, hence lugaduc!

bp likes lugging ducs
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

you're quite the cunning linguist, bp.

gregrnel,   a 620 with a 14t front is by far the kindest Duc on which to get stuck in bad traffic.   Not likely to get too much sympathy from this crowd unless you are a petite female.

start squeezing.

or cry, you obviously never been lugaduc for an hour at 5mph on a dry clutch bike.i cnat even feel my arm after thats done.

gregrnel

It's not the clutching, it's just trying to keep it going nice and steady. All I'm saying is driving in slow traffic is smoother on a Japanese 4, however I'll never go that way again.

5'6" 150# 15 BMI, so, I guess I am petite [thumbsup]

You said cunna-ingus ;D

maybe the DMF can get gripmasters in bulk at a discount and print the DMF logo on them.

on a more serious note, if people don't want to (or can't) lane split in those situations, you can vary your hold on the clutch...switch from full hand to middle and index finger and back.   Hold all the way out at bar end switching to all the way in tight...pull with fingers versus rotating your hand down to squeeze more with fleshy part at base of fingers on lever...   should be able to survive a few hours that way.

ahhh...but clutch work is how to do that...should be able to crawl along at slower than walking speed at a consistent crawl with feet up on pegs at any rpm.  Just takes practice.

...or play with your speed and distance between the cars to just coast in neutral for a lot of the time.  ;D I don't mind the heavy Duc clutches...but my hand does get tired after a bit.

yeah, yeah....I know being in neutral at any time can be dangerous per the MSF course. I only do it in really slow traffic when the risk is minimal.  ;)

So true.

hell, I got stuck with construction coming home from DC one time at night and after the state trooper pulled me over and told me I couldn't lanesplit (and then pulled in behind me in the stopped traffic) I just turned it off and paddled it (slight downhill thankfully).  Oddly he didn't then yell at me for having no lights on...I figured he wouldn't hit me.

safety stuff is all scenario dependent...no rules cover everything.   ;D

Try it with a big boy clutch.  Short levers make it even more fun.

If you drive the nicest car in the neighborhood, work in a cash business, and don't pay taxes, you're either a preacher or a drug dealer...
