2002 S4 with tach messed up
«
on:

My tach now points at 10K when I'm at an idle -- the movement seems normal for the most part... Anyone had this issue and/or know how to fix it?
thx
Matt

Generally, that's a 'replace it' fix.
Need to buy new, or virgin used unit, as the immobilizer is an issue.
Some folks have opened 'em up and re-indexed the needle, with varying success.
I'm pretty sure it's a cut-it-open deal, so not the greatest scenario.

Sometime last year I had my instrument pod torn apart for something.
I accidentally bumped one of the needles (can't remember if it was the speedo or tach).
When I plugged it back in, it re-zeroed the first time I turned the key on.
Since it's simple to do, you might want to try unhooking and then reconnecting the battery.
