Rim stripes-which ones???
«

Hi
Just wanted to get some feedback on rim stripes
I'm looking for red reflective rime stripes
Which brand works best?
I've also seen stripes that are not straight but arced
Any ideas/expertise appreciated

The arced ones come in four pieces. It might be difficult to make the connections look nice. I have no FHE with them, but people keep saying they are easy to work with (I have my doubts)
I got the 7mm refractive/reflective from PJsParts. The bag said CarpiMoto, so I guess PJsParts get them from there. The applicator does help a lot, but it's still a challenge to make them go on without a few four letters words. If I remember correctly - Tape Works is the name of another famous manufacturer.

Regardless of what you choose, take your time (and double it) and get the bike up on stands or a table. You "must" have freely rotating wheels.
This is my result.......

I used stickers from these guys, good quality and cheap, even cheaper if you live in the US with Exchange rates!

www.glsigns.com
has the curved 4 piece.
i used them and yes you have to be patient, but it does eliminate the need for the stands

TapeWorks is a good source for stripes and rads
http://www.tapeworks.com/Rimstripes/RimstripesHome.html
Big color selection, even 20+ flavor of reflectives. They also do all sorts of other sticker kits too.
I used their black reflectives on my dark 620. They are single piece stripes, so you'll need a stand to do the job easily.

i ordered mine from pj's parts. one piece is way better. i had the 4 piece ones before these and they didn't look good. you could see all the places where they went together. it bugged me until i got the one piece ones. the four piece ones were also a pain to get on straight (they never actually were straight). on the other hand the one piece stripes i got from pj's parts were simple to get on straight as they came with an applicator. mine went on PERFECT!! just be sure to take your time!!!

Thanks for all the input
I probably won't like the joints on the curved stripes
My local shop has the straight stripes with the applicator-I'll probably pick them up (finally I'll get rid of the nasty fork reflectors)
I'll definitely have my bike on stands when I apply the stripes

Keep in mind the width of the stripes too, there are lots of variations... too narrow and they might be harder to to keep steady, too fat and they might be harder to curve. I went with Tapeworks because I thought the width looked right and I felt good about the reflective red color match. They were comparatively pricey though...

I think I like these, but to make sure, does anyone else have pictures of their bikes with the rimstripes?
