seriously though....paint them.
all you need is some cardboard to use as a drop clothe, and the paint. i second the use of high temp grill paint.
here are a few pictures of mine (not all black mind you...)
watching paint dry

How exactly do you figure that $70 worth of belt covers are cheaper than a can of spray paint??
I'm thinking the OP would have to buy proper cleaning stuff, sand paper (?), primer and paint. I might be wrong on the total price, but I'm also thinking about how easy/difficult and time consuming a good paint job is. Add to that the "fact" that a paint job might very well not last.
Primer and paint would each cost about $30 here. I realize your prices are a bit lower

Next dumb question.
How do I know if I have a wet or dry clutch?
Sorry, I am stupid.

I have to sandpaper them and prime it? Then paint it? I can't just spray over it?
And I do want it to look "good".

Well, all I did with my belt covers was wash them with some dish soap, toss hem in the oven at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes, then let them cool. Threw a coat of paint on, let them dry to the touch, threw them in the oven again. Did that a total of 3 times and they came out great and durable.
After all that, they are currently sitting in a box in the garage. I'm running coverless...

wet clutch is summerged in oil, so as long as you keep your oil level proper, your clutch will be fine..
Also wet clutches are more prone to hordes of zombies so if things get quiet watch out...

That's cool. I know martial arts.
I can decapitate a zombie with a karate chop.
Thanks EVERYONE for your help. =)

I cleaned my belt covers by putting them in the dishwasher on the 'pots-n-pans' setting, and heated drying cycle. worked great.

I used this new rustoleum all purpose satin black paint. I`m not too fond of the new style nozzle, but the paint stuck great and matches the dark bike really well.
