2002 S4 Rear Axle Tool

I have a 2002 S4 and it has an axle with a nut on one side and a female 12 point torx like end on the other. Looks like I need a special tool for chain adjust, etc.

Does this sound right? If so, I imagine I will need to go to the dealer. Any insight is appreciated.
