Clip-on adjustment help

Hello,

Installed a set of LSL clip-ons on the S4Rs. I find the levers to be too high and I can't rotate them down because the bolt that connects the cable to the levers is hitting the mount (both clutch and brake). Does anyone know if I can loosen the bolt and rotate the connection forward? Will fluid come out if I loosen the bolt? I attached a photo to help illustrate.

I've done that - no problems. My dealer did it as well - no problems.

Loosening the banjo bolts CAN result in a leak, air in the system. The trick is to loosen them very little, not more than it takes to rotate them with bit of force. When you apply pressure to the tool - do it carefully, so you don't loosen them too much when they suddenly move.

Worst case scenario: you have to bleed the system afterwards.

FHE experience here..buy NEW Washers and do it right. Those copper ones are really cheap and one time use only. Once you loosen them up there is no guarantee that they will ever properly seal again.

Here is the worst case scenario you are looking at if you dont do it right

1) Fluid seeps out of the banjo bolt very very slowly
2) It pools up at the seams
3) you go for a ride and dont notice.
4) The wind blows it all over the front of your gas tank
5) The brake fluid EATS your PAINT.

I reused some washes on my calipers had some minor spray on my nice white wheels. Do yourself a favor and spend the right amount of time to do it properly so you dont create a headache for yourself later.
