I squeezed out 27 miles. My incentive was riding through Oakland at midnite. No offense to anyone living in Oakland, CA, I just look like an easy target.  :-\

I've gotten 22 on the reserve with the fuel light on.  Good tip on the gas tank lift.  Hopefully, I won't have to use that one.  I did manage to run out of gas on my wife's Suzuki.  Who knew that that it didn't have a reserve light...only a series of bars where the last one flashes when you are almost bone dry.  I kept wondering as I was riding what that flashing bar meant.  Unfortunately, I found out...but luckily I was only a few feet from a gas station when I did.

This would have been good info... 2 days ago!!!

Same thing, light came on, and it died about 5 miles shorter than I anticipated... on the freeway. About 3 miles from gas. Luckily I was on a merge lane and right next to a wide paved shoulder... and had a friend nearby who could bring me a gallon.

Interesting being on the side of the freeway in that situation. Only one bike slowed to see if I needed help... one guy in a delivery van... and 2 state troopers.

So much for th ".9 gallon" reserve. Lesson learned.

I rode mine for about 20 miles after the light and was able to make it. I did run out of gas once, but that was before the heavy mods, so I assume those number don't count now.

+1 on getting AAA.

My 08' S2R 1K gave out at around 11miles. absolute bummer. Had to push half way up hill. Now I fill up every 125 or so.

with my 03 620 i did all highway got 157 miles and 2.8 gallons at fill up, and light came on at around 137.  normally highway i get around 50mpg but this day was different got way better mileage than i normally do, i figure that i average hwy around 48-50mpg, fuel light comes on usually when i have used 2.5-2.8 gallons.

happens to me quite a bit, if the light comes on at 137 I try to push it to 165...

I get about the same mileage on my 620.  I usually gas up at 150-160 miles and put in 2.8 to 3.0 gallons.  That compute to about 50-53 MPG.

I seem to routinely manage around 153 miles, and fill up 3 to 3.2 gallons. I know once my light comes on I can go 25 to 30 more miles.

I have a 2005/6 Monster 620. The manual seems to imply it is a 3.7 gallon tank. So I figure I'm getting 45 mpg plus an additional 30 miles due to reserve. The furthest I ever got was 186, and I have no idea what i did different.
Look! up on the Highway! My word! It's insane! No! It's a Monster....

So today I rode almost exclusively on the FWY for a total of 164.1 miles. 15 miles of which was street. Last time I filled up I put 3.2 gallons in. The fuel light turned on at around 136.4 miles. I went 27.7 miles on reserve. I think I could have gone at least 30, maybe 35 miles total...
