After getting jealous of all the rest of you going out and riding for fun and not just for commuting, I finally got out for a nice ride on Sunday.  I did the nice fun ride up Mt. Hamilton Rd.  I jumped back to 680 to 101 S to Bailey, went out to Uvas, down to 152 and over to Watsonville.  I took a stroll up 1 (stopped in at Surf City in Aptos) to 9, made the trip over the hill and back home to the south bay.  165 miles.  What a grea way to spend the day.

I heard a lot of other riders talking about all the cops they saw out on Skyline all weekend.  By the time I got there, the riders and police had thinned out enough so I could really enjoy my ride without being stupid, without seeing stupid squids and without the fear of watching my spedo even though I'm not being dumb.

Other than having a great ride, I got pictures of my 696 for the first time.

My original plan was to go for a lot more miles but I had not gone up Mt. Hamilton for years so I opted for more technical and fewer miles.

I did 90 on Monday all on the freeway and I am so glad I opted for the technical on Sunday over distance.

I finally broke 6000 miles on my 696.  I want to knock out the next 1500 and get the service done.

Sounds like a fun ride! Nice to see another 696 owner  waytogo. I just got the 7500 service done and the bikes running really strong.

Where did you go for the service?  I'm thinking I need to go to Nichols.  They treated me right years ago when I had my 900SS and I've heard nothing but good things on here still.
