Drunken Monkey

At first I thought this was horrible and I had flashbacks to my childhood.

Then I realized she stopped the car before pushing the kids out, so what's the big deal?

I own several motorcycles. I have owned lots of motorcycles. And have bolted and/or modified lots of crap to said motorcycles...

NAKID

Yeah, like Vin said, why did "The girl gave police her mother's name and their address in well-to-do Scarsdale, and they asked Scarsdale police to check Primoff's $2 million house." need to be in the story?

El Matador

I was 11 when I got the bright idea to talk back to my dad. I got slapped and walked my ass 5 miles to my house. Yes, I was in a good neighborhood. Anuone that says that a 12 yo can't walk her ass 3 miles through a good neighborhood to go home is part of what the problem in this country is. The amount of overprotectio that goes on in this country makes it's people weak.

El Matador

I just realized that my last post could be construed as anti american.I  meant none of the sort. I love this country and hate to see people ruining its future generations by shielding them from everything

10 and 12 years old is not that young.  At 12 my friends and I would ditch school and take the train in to NYC.  We would wander around the streets until it was time to come home.  These two couldn't make it 3 miles?  A 45 min walk to teach them a lesson doesn't sound too unreasonable.  Would it have been better if she pulled over and smacked the shit out of them?  They obviously didn't listen when she asked them to stop.

I was 8 years old when I started taking the subway to school by myself in Chicago.

you don't even want to know the crazy shit I got up to when I was 8.

I'm not trying to make excuses for the mom, but if making a kid walk 3 miles in their own neighborhood is neglectful and traumatic, something has gone very wrong. It's not like she had them airlifted and dropped into a jungle with a compass and pen knife as punishment - they had to walk a little ways in a neighborhood they know.

Unfortunately the difference in time means a lot. I can't tell you how many times I was smacked or got the wooden spoon.

If you did that now CPS would be called and the parents arrested.
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

My thoughts exactly. No wonder kids today are such twittering pansies.

Making kids walk is a crime now?  Does that mean that every kid I see walking to the mall/shool/park is in danger and can call the cops to arrest their parents?
