Saw an extended trailer and interview with the director last night..McG stated in the interview that the inspiration was the Monster...no mention of the Hypermotard.  Weird that it contradicts the official Ducati statement.

The same here. I was at the movie theater and I saw, probably, the same extended interview and the director mentioned the Ducati Monster...  ???

A beeter question would be - what is the advatage for having robot bikes at all?  Just take out the legs of a terminator and put some wheels on them.  Better yet, why don't they just put a jet pack on a terminator?  On top of that, take out the arms and put machine guns on them.

I would totally piss my pants if a flying terminator comes at me with guns for arms.  I wouldn't even bother fighting back.

Flying terminators are a little vulnerable to anti-air attacks because they can't take cover.

Give me a T1000 wearing roller skates any day: manouverable and deadly!  [thumbsup]

he wouldn't need roller skates, he'd just need to "grow" them.

Here some concept art about the bike design that explains a bit more of why the bikes look as they do. After looking at the first image and comparing it to the second, it's far easier to see the organic nature of the design:

Glad to see they removed the stickers and reflectors.

I think they should have used Monsters and called them...uhm...Monsters.
