I'll try n follow this-Your designs ARE much better and pretty kewl YOU are developing their new product  waytogo

Hate to rip mine off and replace tho...will see.

i would def contact them and make them send you one from the new template. the ones they sent you obviously don't fit right on the 696. i hate it when sh*t like that happens. especially after you asked repeatedly...

Sorry, I shipped back w/ the templates.  Maybe you can buy NekkedChic's pads when she removed them and replace w/ the proper pair.  The pads are re-useable anyway.  chug  You will need to convince her tho.

TechSpec will create permanent template for 696/1100.  Maybe based on what I did here with slight modifications.  So you will benefits from my hard work.   waytogo

Hi UT,

I believe we shipped out your 696 Gripster pads yesterday, so you should receive them within the next couple of days. Once you get them stuck on, could you supply us with some pictures? Our Ducati dealer is a good + 50 miles away, so it's a little difficult to get pictures.

I like your templates! I would buy the pads in a second...When are they going to become available?

You know what, I think you can email and ask them for the pads now.  I mean it took them just 1 day turnaround to make the pads.  I can't imagine any reason why they can't just start cutting out the pads now.  Their production version is probably using my template w/ the straight lines and modify a bit.  I didn't like how that one looks, however.  So enjoy!  waytogo

At first glance, you probably want even notice a difference between your
patter and the one we plan to take into product. They are very close. Ours
will just have the slightest hint of straight lines on the leading edge of
the pad and the nose is a little more round. Wile yours is a continuous
radius with a slightly sharper nose.

Thanks again for your help with this.

Wow, I got the pads today in the mail.  That was pretty quick.  I think it was shipped on Wed from Cali.  Just put it on making sure the surfaces are pretty warm (80+F) and very very clean.  Good think the dark 696 doesn't have wax on it, ever.   waytogo

And ... I'll now go take a test ride.  Will take outside pics later.  Smiley

Ok, so just FYI, what you get from Tech-Spec may not be exactly the same as what I have here.  Mine is considered 'one-off' as Tech-Spec wants to base their template on mine but add some straight lines into the pads.  So what gets shipped to you maybe slightly different than what you see in my pics.  You'll have to work it out w/ Tech-Spec on that one, if you would like my version instead.   Roll Eyes

So, the pads worked as expected.  I had stomp-grip before on my CBR.  It was a bit too aggressive with very stiff knobs.  I really like tech-spec material better.  It's more comfy and offer very good friction.  After a short test ride, I was able to hold my body up easier w/ the knees, taking most of the weight off the handlebar.  This helps the control quite a bit.  So, all is good and I'm a happy camper.   waytogo

Now it's the excuse to shamelessly post more photos of my bike...
