Look who qualified for his first national.  (I'm Steve -- qualified near the bottom, but on the grid!)

Excellent! Especially after the "little incident" you had in the leadup. I'll be paying special attention to the race now. Great work! waytogo

You beat Chaz Davies! LOL http://www.amaproracing.com/prorace/raceres/rr/racres.asp?cls=fe&snct=p8225&type=f&rnum=1&year=2008

He had two crashes in the lead-up. The latest was a high-side in turn 2 Wednesday at Keigwin's. It was heartbreaking...I was ready to go out for my final session when I saw the 749Grrr being trailered in. I could only stay out for a couple of laps before coming in...I was a bit too concerned & distracted. But Steve recovered, and his lap times only got better. To me, that's the sign of a true pro!  waytogo

Wait until you see the race....  you'll understand why I took special satisfaction finishing ahead of Chaz in the points.

I saw the race, but I must've missed something...  Why is that?  Did he bump you on his way by or something?

It was a really tight kawasaki sandwich headed into 9.  Chaz ever so lightly grazed my elbow.  I thought it was a totally clean pass and I was really impressed.  I'm unsure whether it was intentional -- I don't think it was.

He wanted to pet the Tiger... Grin

I almost crashed into Davies on the Ruckus in the hot pits. Dude stepped out of his tent and toward the porta-pottie without looking. I didn't quite have the presence of mind to take him out for ya, but his mechanics seem to have taken care of that for me  Grin

Ahh, gotcha thanks.  Again, congrats on your achievement!  And it must've been pretty cool to race with those guys.  chug
