Nice going Scottish.       With the kick backs and the stuff on the side, you should be able to wrangle a new Duc out of PJ's pretty soon    .   .   .   .   .    OH!   I'm not supposed to say that, am I?    Grin      Anyway, good luck in the new position.   waytogo

Attention gearheads, speed freaks and hotrodders of the board:

Saturday the 22nd will be the day of the "Hotrod Rumble" at the ABQ Dragway from 4PM-Midnight.  The last 2 of these they've had have had a great turnout and its a good time to watch the ol hotrods actually race instead of just sit there and look pretty.

(No Flyer picture)

The following Saturday the 29th is the 10'th annual Rumbler Thunder carshow (pre '63).  It wont be in the same location as years passed.  This year it will be held in a parking lot on 3rd street and Silver.  Starts at 4PM with an after party at the Atomic Cantina.  there will also be a "Pre-Show Party" on Friday they 28th at 6:00pm at the Atomic Cantina.

Thats kind of weird.  When I passed the General Mills plant this morning I'm pretty sure they were making Fruity Pebbles.  Or fruit loops.  Was hard telling but great smelling!

so it`s been said to me that i really don`t hold much back and i`m not afraid to throw even the gnarly shit in my life out here on the board. i suppose that`s true, however there is reason for that. even though strangers i don`t know have access to this, it`s more important that the people i do know have that access as well. why here though? you all are my friends and at times we all need somebody to lean on... and facebook doesn`t work for that support because i still have a lot of mutual friends with my ex, who i don`t want to make feel awkward or like they are being forced to take a side. so you all end up being my support group. Tongue

interestingly awhile back in a fit of pique i posted thati was improving and that she was relying on naive males and her looks to get by.

lastnight the maid of honor from our wedding was having a "before i leave life celebration" (terminal cancer and a gut wrenching story itself) anyway i had our daughter who was getting restless so i went to the back of the church with her. it was then that i noticed my ex was sitting with a new guy... i asked her brother about him he`s 43 to her 25. nicely done drea. i`m glad to see that you are using your time to be introspective and maybe figure out some of the patterns that led to ours and other past relationship failures. there is some statisfation in being right. i`ve been promoted and she`s gone for a guy 10yr my senior and almost 20yrs hers.

anyway it was a weird mix of emotions but for some reason i`m having a hard time letting go of this step in our new lives it keeps running through my head to the point that it intruded on my sleep lastnight and was the first thing in my head before i was even fully awake.

it`s not like i haven`t seen anyone yet. i`ve been out a couple times. no one i would invite to an event of this sort though. which means she`s probably known this guy for awhile. ew.

it`s just weird cause on the one hand i really want her to do well and find a nice guy who`ll set a good example on how a man should treat a woman for my daughter`s sake. on the other hand i want her to fail and see that she make the beast with two backsed up and there aren`t a lot of guys out there who`d treat her as well as i did.

i guess ultimately i need to root for for her for my daugthers sake. sometimes it`s hard to get your pride out of the way though.

thanks for listening to my rant.

btw sorry about the  lack of capitalization this phone makes it prohibitive.

Being introspective and positive toward your Ex for the sake of your daughter is something I can wholly relate to.

I think you're on the right path as certainly your posting here has been (most likely) cathartic and you'll feel better and grow and move on from this.

Remember this:  Your daughter already has a great example of how a man should treat a woman......in how you treat your daughter.  waytogo

thanks stew. and yes it has been catharic. often times i`ll realize things as i`m posting.

i know it`s important how i treat my girl. but if i don`t have to spend time trying to nullify bad examples set i`ll be time ahead in the game ya know.

i sometimes wish the ex just wasn`t around. she could run off to monte carlo with some rich skeeze and leave alyssa and i to live our lives without that influence... but that`d prolly make the beast with two backs some emotional shit up too. no easy answers man.

I know it's cathartic.....first hand.

Your daughter needs positive role models in her life....male and female.  Just keep hoping for the best for your ex despite it being rough or tiring.  I do the same but damn, damn, damn.....does it get hard somedays.

You're not in the boat alone man.

Emotions are strong forces that can act uncontrollably on our behavior. It's very easy to say that your life will be much better when you are past the emotion of the breakup. Time is also a strong force. You'll get there.

Another Say Anything: I'm starting to firm up my plans to ride from NY to the Atlanta area in late June. My friend Frank from Ithaca, NY and I have decided to meet in the Harrisburg, PA area and head south together from there. The basic trip will be Harrisburg to the Skyline Drive in Virginia, down to Ashville, NC, the Tail of the Dragon and into north Georgia. We are not in a particular hurry and we want to avoid slab-ways as much as possible. I do know that the Monster is not a great tourer, but it will do.

I'm soliciting suggestions in the General Forum, but I welcome all input.
