G'day all

I have just finished removing my swingarm on my 07 S2R 800 to get it painted, now I read as much on the process as I could, read about some of the pitfalls and dramas that others were having, so I took my time and everything was going very smoothly, Bagging all the parts up with names and location of all the parts on each bag, cleaning up all the old grease as I went along.

I got to the final part before removing the swingarm pivot, removing the pivot pinch bolt (under the Chain guard) I read about a few people having minor problems getting it out, so I grabbed my trusty 6mm allen head driver and tried to remove it, wouldn't budge, gave it a 2nd try, broke the driver, Bugger!

Decided to give it a spray of wd40 top and bottom and leave it sit until the next night, meanwhile I checked the parts Diagram and realized that there was a nut on the bottom of the bolt  [bang] :-[ feel like a bit of Dickhead!

Got up this morning and removed the nut, and while I was sitting there thinking how will I remove the Pinch bolt, It pops out! I'm looking right at it at the time, and with a loud pop it jumps clean out of the swingarm and onto the floor! I wasn't touching it, the arm was not being moved, I was sitting there thinking about it!

Slid the Pivot arm out and bag up the Swingarm for Painting.

Just thought I'd share, Just one of those strange things that happen  [thumbsup]

Not laughing at you or your small tool misfortune.  :)

See if you can do the same with a primary gear!

(Those usually require extreme measures to get off. If one spontaneously released, likely you'd need a metal detector to find where the gear shot off to.)
