Just got an email that Coleman Falls Church is having a Ducati demo day on Saturday, May 9. It's by appointment only, so call ahead. Of course, that's the day before mothers day, and I've already made plans here in Hampton Roads, so I'll miss it. [bang] [bang] Looks like they have another one scheduled for May 23, so maybe I can make that one.

They also announced a Streetfighter launch party for May 22. Think there's any chance of demo'ing a Streetfighter at the May 23 demo day? [evil]

the bike runs HOT as hell...on a cool day, it'd be fine to warm your ass, but otherwise, not for riding around the city in non leather on a summer day. Also, it is a bike that needs to be ridden, not puttered around on. It is really not a happy go lucky machine until it gets 6K or so into the rev range IMHO. There are other things about the bike, I am sure I can expound on, and that I would modify, but it wasn't my bike and I was appreciative of my buddy for to have him loan it to me for the day to go and ride.

My 1098 does not run hotter than any other sportbike I have owned. I have the full system termis and race ecu on it which apparently reduces the amount of heat it puts out. I love mine once the suspension is set up, it is amazing.

Yes, the Streetfighter will be available for demo rides tomorrow.  They were trying to fill up the last few slots tonight.

BTW, the stunt rider gets extra points for being 17 years old.

I took the Streetfighter S for a demo ride today. [moto]  It's a little taller than my S2R1K, but the Ohlins suspension is nice and rock solid.  Riding position is slightly more upright than my Monster.  I had to keep it under 5500 RPM since it wasn't broken in, but power delivery is smooth and spirited.  With the stock cans the bike is quiet like a BMW--it definitely needs a set of Termis or Arrows to give it the sound to match the look.  Steering with the damper is nimble and stable.  Overall I liked it, but it didn't bowl me over.  I guess I'll be keeping my Monster for a while.
2008 S2R 1k.  Black.  Pazzo Levers, 14 t front sprocket, CRG Hindsight LS mirrors, Cycle Cat Frame Sliders,  Oberon open clutch cover and gold/black EVR pressure plate, full Arrow exhaust with reflashed and mapped ECU, tail chop with gold Rizoma Avio 21 turn signals, Ohlins rear shock and Rizoma fluid reservoirs.

May have been.  I was there around 1 PM--I rode in on the black S2R and took the SF out around 1:20 or so.
