Yes, we really are going there again, but there's nothing about them on THIS forum yet. 

I just got a set used, and the "plug and play" wiring is anything but.  Ugh.  Is it safe to presume the connection changed over the years?  If so, what can I do to fix it?  Anyone have instructions or a diagram?

nope same wiring.

Black is ground
the other (white or yellow or red) is hot.

Open up your headlamp, and remove that cable that goes into it.  THat cable should have 5 wires. 3 goes into this block, and 2 go into the mini parking light.

Of the 3 that go into the big block, there is a black (ground) a yellow and a white i believe. Im pretty sure the yellow is high and the other is low. Now just wire how you want them.
