696 and possibly monster 1100/s owners, is it just me or does any of you think that the level of lumen produced by the low beam is inadequate for night rides? I find that my low beam is pathetic compare to cager's low beams and that my high beam will match. If I were to stared straight into the high beam I won't be blinded like I would if I had stared into my car's high beam.

I've been using my high beam and never had a complaint nor anyone flashing back at me......hmmmm

i feel the same way about the headlight on my s2r1000. my solution was to
1- put in a halogen bulb
2- adjust the aim of the headlight up a bit

not sure if either is an option for the new monster, but worth a try if it is.

someone on this board swap'd the stock bulbs on the 696 for Sylvania Silverstar Ultra's.  I did this with my truck, it made an amazing difference.  It's a much whiter bulb with greater reach & shows more detail.  It also makes the reflective paint used for lanes, signs & markers show up much better.

Before doing anything else, check the headlight aim.

I put silverstar bulbs in mine and made a big difference.  I don't really feel it is inadequate anymore.

I have a set (high, low & running light) for sale if you want (selling my 696).

Look in the owners manual and set your headlight aim.  First adjust the sag and suspension.
