I'm going to play around with them later in the week once my last final is over cause my wrist is hurting a whole bunch after i get of the bike. my left hand tends to be numb...

Ive seen guys with clip ons that are so angled downward that it wouldnt be safe to lane split traffic since youd be unable to turn the handle bars, never rode my bike like that, but whats a good natural position for the hands? more angled down? more wide out? more sweep? not sure what i should be aiming for, i have cycle cat clip ons.

Why are you weighting your wrists?

From the little experience I have plus all the thought I've put into this (I'm a personal trainer and looove bio mechanics)

.... I'd say

the lower your elbows are, the more down-angle you should have. So, it depends on which riding position you prioritize to be in.

Sweep back is decided by your individual anatomy - the whole hand should connect (not rest) with the grip while keeping a straight wrist.
Again; in the riding position you prioritize.

You'd also need to rotate the levers in the position where they, in your prioritized riding position, will allow a straight wrist.

IMO clip ons and the riding position they "require" is usually not very compatible with smooth and active city riding.

Why are you weighting your wrists?

cause im riding through traffic and my feet are not settled on the tank to grab it half the time.

that setup looks very painful. im only 5'6 with 5'6 arm span

I have the MotoWheels clip-On's with the 1.5'' rise mounted above the top tree on my Monster-->
Might not look as evil as having them mounted below the tree, but with my bad back the ride/position is perfect..
And, I can lane split like no other..

I have mine below the top clamp, then with a bout 15' down angle. I play with it until it feels right. Took me an hour of trial spanering & riding, but can go for quite a while before pain sets in. I find clutching in heavy traffic more of an issue though.

*sorry, no pic  Tongue

Im gonna try lowering it, my wrists hurt like hell. especially my left wrist, the thing is, i try to have my clutch linear with my hand, but i can only go so much without it being too far away. my right hand doenst hurt it just gets tired from manipulating the throttle, i wish i could get it to run smoother, im going to try and lube the cable.

Try teflon lube, it worked great for me.

Also try getting some adjustable levers. That way, you can still have the levers rotated downward and they won't be too far away

is teflon lube a powder or a gel? Ive seen the graphite stuff, but my bike gets wet pretty often so it wouldnt last.

as for the levers, S2R1000 comes with adjustble levers stock.  Grin its already at the lowest.  Undecided

Get some ASV's or CRG's Waaaaaaay more adjustable.

Teflon is sprayed on. Comes in a can just like wd40.

ok, i've waited long enough....

how DOES one "rock" their clip ons? is it like rocking your ski's/snowboard? or is it rock and roll all night, and party every day?

inquiring minds want to know.
