At the corner of Burke and Doncaster Roads (the edge of Kew and North Balwyn). He was on an older Monster I think, black with a bronze frame. I gave him a nod as I rode past but I didn't get a nod back  Cry

Yeah, the nod is a bit hit and miss these days. I remember when everyone on a bike nodded .....I sound like an old man whinging...

I do get more nod's when I'm on the Duc as opposed to the old kwaka 250, bloody snobs.

Don't worry Grug, I'll nod if I see ya.

Speaking of which, were any of you chaps riding away from Box Hill Town Hall on a White S4R, where the Japanese Festival was last Sunday?

Aaand pretty much at the same time also spotted a red MTS riding with pillion. Any DMFers?

Dang, and here I was thinking us Duc riders were such a friendly lot!  laughingdp Well at least now I know that DMFers will always say hello!

Don't worry Grug, I'll nod if I see ya.

Cheers!  waytogo

I actually got a big thumbsup from a Harley Rider a couple of weeks ago. I was proud as punch!  Grin though in the last week (since I got off my learners and on to my licence) I've noticed that I get a lot less kudos for riding the 600 now, than I did when the L-plates were still hanging off the back... I'm half tempted to put them back on!

I think the nod thing is a funny observation.
Here in Sth Aust I find that 75% of non cruiser riders nod to each other, but I cannot remember ever having a cruiser rider whether it be a Harley or a Jap cruiser give me the nod.
Maybe they just nod to each other........

But for me I nod to every bike rider, and If I get a nod back so be it. I don't get hung up on the issue.

I had some crazy bus driver in the middle of Melbourne this morning just about jumping out of his seat waving to me whilst we were stopped at traffic lights.  Wanted me to blip the throttle.  From his charades I'm assuming that he rides himself.  Couldn't really tell if he has a duc or just admires them but he was certainly excited.

Also had a bike rider wave from across the paddock on the other side of the freeway too.  Strange as I've just about given up waving to other riders.  If I wave they don't wave back then if I don't wave they do!!!

Maybe anybody on a bike today was just enjoying the glorious weather.  It was so good I took a two hour detour from the normal 3 hour ride home and went round Mount Macedon, Daylesford and the Grampians to get home.    Grin [moto]  Felt sorry for the suckers at work.

Ahh the nod.

Gets a bit tricky when you pass a string of bikes with your head bobbin' up and down  laughingdp

After one good day out I got return nods from two separate Harley riders on the way home ... knew I was having a good day then.

Just be careful if you jump in the car after going for a ride ... I find myself nodding to riders as I drive past in the car  Roll Eyes

Funny we are talking about the nod. I occasionally cross the line to the Harley side and when I ride the 300 kilo lump I mostly get the nod from other cruser riders but not the sport bike fraternity. When I get back onto the Monster I mostly get the nod from sport bike riders and nothing from the cruser fraternity. SAME BLOKE DIFFERENT BIKE! [moto]

It is like there is code of silence like 'They are the enimy'.

Go fugure! Rob  bacon
