Just picked up a pair of BT002...so far I'm very impressed with them (my bank account doesn't like them). They are super sticky - its like being on a whole new bike.

I've heard the same thing...if you take them to track they will wear out pretty quickly.

Only the front is multi-compound, the rear is single.

DOT doesn't necessarily make them "street" tires. Just simply means they can be used on the street but are developed for the track, the ideal use for them. Not sure if that's what you were implying.
Hey Rob,
Did you pick these up from John the Bridgestone tire guy at MSR-H Saturday?
I thought about buying a set, I think he said $280 for the set installed? I can't remember for sure but my 2CT's had only 1 track day on them so I decided to save my $$ for next time. Were you running warmers on them?

yes, i know.
especially someplace like a racing & trackdays board, referring to "DOTs" normally means '
DOT race tires
'; tires you would use at the track that aren't slicks.
i was saying that if he was comparing a DOT race/trackday tire to an everyday street legal stock tire... they may both be DOT-approved but they're miles apart in performance.

No picked them up a week before. I scrubbed them up a bit in a parking lot before taking them to the track. I wasn't running warmers on them but after a lap or so the felt really sticky compared to the Dunlops. By the end of the day I was turn it quicker more consistent laps than I had before.
