Test rode the SF today.  Complete with Ohlins suspension and Termis.

Much better looking in person.

WAY too much power for a naked bike IMO.  But, the SF handles the power much better than an S4Rs.  The short gearing and 1098 power makes this thing an absolute beast on the street.

The ergos are very Hypermotard like.

No matter where I rode it, side streets or highway, I could not keep the speed below 100 mph.  Right about the time you start wishing for a full fairing, you notice you are going way too fast for the street.

The bike is fun.  Too much power for the street.  Not enough wind protection and too upright for the track.  It's a solution looking for a problem.  But I suspect there are quite a few problem people out there who will love it.

Just rode the Streetfighter. Hands down the best Ducati I've ridden. Seating position was comfy, suspension worked great (base model), the brake are finger touch sensitive, and the power was balls out. I disagree with your opinion of too much power; it is a well balance. Yes the wind can be bothersome over 80 mph but I'd expect it from a fairing-less bike.

I'm sold and can see, after riding it, how the Streetfighter can replace the Monster.

Here's what I posted on the CAM thread.  I agree with you Bob, the Streetfighter had that Hypermotard/dirt bike feel to it as a result of the more upright riding position.  It's undeniably a Ducati, but I didn't feel like I had to have one.

I took the Streetfighter S for a demo ride today.   It's a little taller than my S2R1K, but the Ohlins suspension is nice and rock solid.  Riding position is slightly more upright than my Monster.  I had to keep it under 5500 RPM since it wasn't broken in, but power delivery is smooth and spirited.  With the stock cans the bike is quiet like a BMW--it definitely needs a set of Termis or Arrows to give it the sound to match the look.  Steering with the damper is nimble and stable.  Overall I liked it, but it didn't bowl me over.  I guess I'll be keeping my Monster for a while.
2008 S2R 1k.  Black.  Pazzo Levers, 14 t front sprocket, CRG Hindsight LS mirrors, Cycle Cat Frame Sliders,  Oberon open clutch cover and gold/black EVR pressure plate, full Arrow exhaust with reflashed and mapped ECU, tail chop with gold Rizoma Avio 21 turn signals, Ohlins rear shock and Rizoma fluid reservoirs.

I ordered my pearl white base model back in November. Today I went to the dealership to test ride the demo and if ok I was going to buy my pearl which came in earlier this week.

Took the demo out for half hour ride on some good twisty roads. This bike suits me perfectly almost as if designed for me in that my 49 yo back won't deal with a pure sportbike and yet i want something close. I also have a 06 burtale 910s and 04 aprilia tuono, so nakeds are my things.

Appearances, I think they did a superb job of integrating all the plumbing and pics don't do it justice. Bike handles wonderfully, plenty of power, incredible brakes. I'd forgotten just how wonderful ducati gearboxes are!! Just a great veryr integrated package.

Long story short, bought the pearl one I'd ordered, loaded it on the truck and just home from the 175 mile trip from the dealer in the pouring rain.

A happy camper!

Excellent summary, Silentbob - you basically took the words right out of my mouth as to power, seating position, and feel.
That much power - I'd want clip-ons and a fairing, thank you. The dealer did sell 7 of 'em in 2 days though  ;D

Have you seen the black yet? In all other Ducs, red is fastest. But on the SF, I think black.

With me on it white red or black is ALWAYS SLOWEST! ;)

I saw the black demo and it's very nice it's got a metallic in it that gives it an incredible color I can't really describe, almost like a slight titanium tinge I think?
