T-Rex sliders Installed

Just got my frame and axle sliders installed and man do they look good.  I had been shopping for a while, but couldn't find a matching set that used quality material and wouldn't kill my wallet.  I talked to the guys at T-Rex Racing ( www.t-rex-racing.com ) and they agreed to make a couple sets of through-axle mounts so I could mount their spool/sliders through my hollow axles.  Worked out great.  Frame sliders, front sliders, rear spools/sliders, and two through-axles for the cost of some frame sliders.   They were a breeze to install and the fitment was perfect.  I hope to never be able to tell you how well they worked.

Was the through-the-engine bolt the same thickness as the stock one? Easy to get out and in? How?

I left my calipers at work so I couldn't get any measurements, but they looked to be exactly the same size.  I also had to use about the same amount of force removing the stock bolt as I did to insert the new bolt.  There was no play whatsoever in the bolt that came with the sliders.  I was told that you could remove the original bolt and then install the new one, but the thoughts of my engine dropping enough that the new bolt wouldn't go through made me work with a little more caution.  I used a screwdriver and lightly tapped the stock bolt about halfway out.  I then greased the new bolt (I had already set the nut with loctite) and tapped it into place.  I let the new bolt push the old one out.  Seemed like the safest move.  Worked like a charm.  I figured I would just check all of the nuts/bolts after the next couple of rides to make sure everything stays in place.

Anybody know if the 696 and 1100 frame/axle sliders are the same?

I don't know much about the new monsters, but I believe the rear slider setup would be different on the 696 and its dual swing arm.  Frame sliders might be a little different also.  I assume it would be more of the mounting system then the sliders themselves.

So, do you think they would be willing to make a few more of those through axle mounts??  I really like the look of these...They don't seems to over-shadow the bike like a lot of sliders do.  Also can you now use a spooled rear stand on your bike???  Thanks for the pics bike looks awesome!!

I agree, very subtle look.  I am more then pleased with them.
As far as making you some through-axles, I am sure that they would.  I actually gave them the measurements and provided him with pics so that they could start producing them.  They have a contact link on their website.  I was talking with Tom.  Let him know that you are interested and see what he could do for you.  He was great to work with. 
As far as the stand goes, I have already ask them that question and he is going to check measurements and get back with me.  I don't see why not.  If it will work, I think I am gonna get one.  I really don't want to take the rear spools off to jack the rear end up.  That seems a little counterproductive.

I got a set of the T-Rex frame sliders quite awhile ago and axlesliders/spoolers from Motorsports Machining as T-Rex didn't carry them then.  Let me know what you think of the T-Rex jacks/lifts as I've been thinking of getting one of their front/rear/triple sets.

BTW - I really like what you've done to the bike.

I will let you know about the spool stand.  I currently have the T-Rex stand for the single sided swingarm stand and it is great.  All of their stuff seems to be top notch quality for the prices.
