Hey everyone. I've got a 2001 900SS, on which I've been using Metzler M3s for a few years. I'm getting the front resprung for my weight, and I'm a bit concerned that I won't be able to get more aggressive lean angles at the track with the Metzlers. I've wanted to put a set of Michelin 2CTs on it, but so far I can only find them in 160, 180, and 190 rear sizes on various retail sites. I couldn't get much from the Michelin US site either. I know the regular Pilot Powers, but I want to try the profile of the 2CT. Anyone know if they're available in 170?

AFAIK the power and the power 2ct share the same profile.

Assuming you have a 5.5 rear rim the 180 is a great choice....

why are you set on the 170?

That's what the bike specs say, and that's the size rear I've been running in Metzlers. I don't recall if it's a 5.5" rim or smaller.

Pretty sure that all the 900s came with a 5.5.

Ducati supplied the bike with 170s, and they work OK...

I think they did it due to cost.

Try a 180...

you'll love it.

Thanks! I'll check the rim when I get home. If it's a 5.5, I'm inclined to go with the 2CTs of the Power. But failing that I might try Bridgestone BT-002s.

Try the Powers.  ;)

They're tempting, but I need the tires for street use too...

I rode the set I had on the street...till they were bald. ;D

I have Powers on there again.

I thought the Power was the best wet weather sport tire I'd ever ridden.

Unfortunately, Michelin doesn't bring the 2CT into the US in that size, though I'm sure someone would ship one here.  Either way, I would go with the 180 on that wheel

the power has a 48 lean angle the 2ct run 52 angle
