I would like to thank everyone for a great ride. This was my first time out with the group and what a blast. It was nice to meet everyone who went and I look forward to meeting the rest of the disturbed locals. What a nice collection of bikes as well.

Great pictures Barry..

Ok... so i finally found this forum and the dfw section.. i don't get to play online much anymore.

had a fun time riding with you guys to Muenster. Update on the residue on the zx10.... sorry i'm bad with names, but when the S4 infront of me hit the patch of gravel, it kicked one into my radiator and caused a pretty bad leak... new radiator $850 from the dealer.... talked themn down on it some... and i've got a cox guard on the way... down time... approx 2 weeks so i'll be itching to get back on the bike asap...

Yuck!  Sorry to hear about that.  (and welcome to the forum!)

That's two years in a row that thrown gravel has been an issue on this run.  Maybe next time Cher can sweep the route when she does her preliminary survey ride?  laughingdp

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

DG Dragon Slayer:  Glad you found the board and thanks for riding with us  waytogo  Very sorry to hear about your damaged bike though.

As far as "sweeping the route" on a recon run - Brian and I had a chance to run the route a couple of weeks before and it was clear then - honest.  Not only that, the really horrible corner on 407 that I was talking about had actually been re-paved during that time.  Who woulda thunk it  Tongue  This has got to fall into that old, "Best Layed Plans..." category, damn it.

You did a great job organizing this.   applause I was just razzing ya.  Wink  The fact that you did pre-ride the route and scope out the bad spots is awesome.  It made for a great ride without any major surprises (unlike the HC ride's 8 miles of gravel road on 337 before entering Leakey  vomit )

DooooD.......sorry.
Didn't mean to F'up your bike.

its ok.. i'll send you the bill...

and i do have a cox guad on the way... too little too late... it didnt sound right but the kawi dealer actually says there isn't one available for it... dumbasses...

funny story....
i'm a member of lockhart phillips privateer race group... so i had a LP catalog...anywho. cycle gear never got their 2008 book. since i'm not racing, i took my book to them so they'd have a current one. when i told them about the radiator issue, he was shocked i didnt have a cox guard and i told him what kawi told me... he says "bullshit" and opens the catalog i just handed him and points to it ... and was kind enough to order one for me...

ofcourse if i had kept up with my account at LP i would have been able to get it at cost... but oh well..
