Really alll depends on what it's worth to you. Do you like the old body style or the new. Remember, if you would rather buy new, this may be your last chance to get a 08'
08' S2R 1K   That was close  damn near lost a $400 hand cart.

If he ordered a lot of bikes to come into the shop then he will want to get rid of it. You should be able to  get that 9899 price out the door maybe even less. When I bought my 07 S2R1k I bought it in March 08. The dealer had a lot of 08 bikes coming in so he wanted to get rid of the 07s. I paid 8500 out the door.

I agree with everyone else, you should be able to get them down if they really need the thing off the showroom, but you may just kick the price up a tick and have them add a Termi kit to the deal (iif the Termis are you thing :))

I paid $9,500 for my 07 model in May 07. The dealer was running a special. I understand that the same bike went up in price in 2008 though. I think that first you should make sure that number includes everything. Dealers can add well over $1,000 in fees at the time of sale between shipping, dealer's fee, un-crating etc. That number would sound much better if you knew there would not be any more additional fees, which they usually only tell you as you are signing the doted line.

I paid $8500 for my 06 OTD in 07. You should be able to do better than $9899.

Don't forget that the good old CA sales tax just went up tp 9.25% and they doubled/trippled reg fees starting in June so there is no way you are going to be able to get out of those.  That is going to tack on a $1000 directly to the state.  I say 9500 OTD is a hell of a price.

There is a dealer here in MD which i take my bike to has one for $9715. It was their demo bike and their last one. I'm sure you can get it cheaper than that.
