Radial Front End Upgrade S2R 800 question

Included in the DP radial front end upgrade is a magnesium bottom yoke. Is there any real reason for this other than weight savings? Thanks.

when you start pricing fork and brake upgrades, the radial kit doesn't look so bad :/
