Sorry, no sympathy from me. Rubber neckers are one of my biggest annoyances when on the road. Maybe even higher on my shit list than inattentive soccer mom's in vans/SUVs.

The area around an accident is where you need to be most aware because of the rubber neckers. You should be watching for those idiots to needlessly slow down or drift around as they gawk instead of gawking yourself.

News reports say the lights were on.  Witnesses say the rider was doing something with his IPOD just prior to the crash.

Finally watched the video. Been having internet problems. At the very end they mention that he had earphones in which is illegal. I don't see how that would be relevant in this case. While it is illegal, a stopped ambulance doesn't have its siren going.

Earphones may not be illegal in all states.

I think it's stupid though that car manufacturers qualify their quality by how quiet the cabin is and most people listen to something on the radio while driving. Depending on how loud it is, it could be the same or worse than someone listening to music through earbuds at a reasonable volume...
