That's odd, there are a couple of guys that I work with who claim to have owned big powerful bikes and they say that they ride in any and all weather- including wintertime in Massachusetts... the only problem is that when I knew them, they didn't even own a bike! One guy forgot to pay for his and it got repo'd, and no clue what happened to the other guy's bike. My theory now is that the people who talk the most about being a "biker" spend the least amount of time actually RIDING them. And I am always telling them that I am not a "biker"- I shower occasionally    Grin

He actually said "you're trying really hard to impress me"?

id poke fun of him hardcore right now. in fact id get everyone to cheer him up to see how far he can talk himself into, then squash it. even if he is in the bed hurt. its his own damn fault no matter how you look at it.

His guy has already sustained enough injuries to his body and ego. From now on, a simple smile will be sufficient to discredit everything he says and remind him of his "wobbly" past.

I think everybody knows one of these guys.  Reminds of this SNL skit - Penelope

Yep, sure did!

The sad part is, I gets to be so comical that we nag it on a little.  It is more fun to hear him talk than to argue with him.  Chris and I went to visit yesterday and a couple of "the gang" was there.  The strange part was, they were not that bad.  We spent more time outside looking at my bike, Chris' 999, and their Harleys then we were inside talking to Hero.  Sad part, they were making a little fun of him outside of his own house.  Anyway, back inside I couldn't bring myself to chastise a man that, as much as he wouldn't admit it, was in some serious pain.
I asked him if he planned to get another bike, but before he could answer, his wife yelled, "NO" from the other room.  Awful funny,  he didn't talk any smack to her.  He just whispered, "I'll always have a bike."  He never said a word about riding it though.

something is a little off here to me.    You trash this guy online and yet go into his house?   That's kind of not cool.   The guy may be a complete dick about motorcycles, but going to someone's home and chatting like you aren't calling him a tool to the rest of the world is....I don't know.....feels wrong to me.   Can't play both sides forever.

Hey, I trash him to his face every chance I get.  He does the same.  Kind of hard to explain I guess.  I would say that it has alot to do with the work environment.  We are both supervisors at a steel manufacturing facility.  We have worked together for about 10 years.  He was my boss for a while.  After a promotion, we were peers.  For two years we shared an office.  He is not just this way about bikes.  He is the coolest at everything that is.  But all said and done, work wouldn't be the same without him.  Love him or hate him.  I am still glad he is OK.  Could have just as easily been me (well, maybe not the wobbly wheel part).  I have no doubt he would be the first person through my door explaining what I did wrong and how I should of, he would of, and he could of saved it.

Even if the rider in front of him slowed down he should be able to adjust to it if he was what you said good rider, maybe he panicked, then locked the front and out he goes. Embarrassed

He has a couple of weeks to heal and then he will be back to work.  I can't wait to hear the story then.

Yeah, how he got lucky and is still alive to tell about it!!
