This just came across my desk:

Ducati North America is recalling 1,549 model year 2009 1198, 1198S, 1098R, 848 and model year 2010 F1098 Streetfighter and Streetfighter S motorcycles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

These motorcycles could have fuel leakage from the fuel line at the fuel injector connection, the report said. The plastic fitting between fuel injector and hose can warp or break, which could result in a potential hazard to the rider and possible damage to the motorcycle, stated the report.

Any damage to the fuel line might lead to an increased risk of fire or an unexpected loss of engine performance, which could result in a crash, according to the report.

eh, it's just a little plastic bit it sounds like.

Makes you wonder about the testing that gets done though before it goes out.

Ducati needs to do a voluntary recall of all their screwed up plastic gas tanks, but they haven't revised anything so it would do no good

Every car manufacturer has recalls.  Its just the way it is.  Porsche had quite a few when the Cayenne originally came out.

Why does everyone still think plastic is still an inferior material? Would you rather have steel? EVERYTHING is made of plastic.

Sounds like a quick 10min fix though..

so you'll only need to drop off your bike at the dealer for a week or so...  Grin

I am about 99% sure that Ducati didn't even make the part in question.  It was probably from a third party who f'd up.  Heck, probably Bosch (a German Co.)  Grin
