This probably doesnt apply to the high desert hooligans but I thought I'd post a follow up from craigslist
"This is my response to a e_mail I got.
It is becoming not to fun to ride here. Last night at bike night @ Gardunos on the Green ( the cops are always there with radar gun) one guy got a ticket speeding 1 mile over, 26 in a 25 zone. At the same time 5 cars went by at near 30 mph. Cops did nothing to the autos. Another guy got a warning write up for riding with one hand, had the left hand on his leg or tank or something, cop claimed reckless driving. What happens when we make turn signal with hand? It is getting ridiculous with the cops here picking on sport bikes. And the modified exhaust law, well the cops never hassle Harley's with modified exhaust. Whats up with that? Many other riders last night got sighted also but I couldn't keep up with all the details. My mod exhaust ticket was dismissed, but such a waste of my time going to court, having to get out of work for a while. "

Those cops are getting out of hand.  I heard a guy got a ticket for having his license plate vertical.  Cop said it was unreadable.

Those cops are getting out of hand.  I heard a guy got a ticket for having his license plate vertical.  Cop said it was unreadable.

There's this new thing called "The Law", and all you have to do is look it up to see whether the Man is hosing you down.  In this case, New Mexico law states that:

"The registration plate shall be attached to the rear of the vehicle for which it is issued; however, the registration plate shall be attached to the front of a road tractor or truck tractor.  The plate shall be securely fastened at all times in a fixed horizontal position at a height of not less than twelve inches from the ground, measuring from the bottom of the plate.  It shall be in a place and position so as to be clearly visible, and it shall be maintained free from foreign material and in a condition to be clearly legible."

By this statute, we're probably all in violation, as I haven't seen too many motorcycles where the plate is within 12" of the ground.  Come to think about it, none of my vehicles meets this statute, and I doubt many Police vehicles do, either.  Wonder if he could have the ticket voided on grounds of selective enforcement, as it is obviously not regularly enforced.  The 14th Amendment to the US Constitution guarantees that the States must provide thier citizens "equal protection" under the law.

However, the statute clearly states that the plate "shall be securely fastened at all times in a fixed horizontal position".  If cops wanna be dicks and enforce such trivial statutes, they're within the law to do so.  The offender was obviously in violation and the least expensive course of action is to pay the ticket.  The "right" action is to fight it on the grounds in the previous paragraph, but most of us couldn't afford that.

I maintain cops should be out enforcing REAL laws, like the ones against illegal immigration, murder, robbery, and such.  Instead they're watching us blood-thirsty license plate twisting motorcyclists.  We're some pretty evil bastards!  Wonder what Mayor Marty has against two-wheeled vehicles?

MARTY IS PISSED OFF CUZ HIS DAUGHTER IS AN ALCOHOLIC WHORE.... not less than 12 in means above twelve inches so we can't scrape em on the ground. plus there's too many squirrels out at this event they scare me with their rear braking skills.  Police's are dicks because they don't want to do real work, they'd rather meet quota by harassing a minority of the population cuz we're cooler than them, plus why risk being shot in the south valley to intercept a couple thousand $$$$ worth of blow and heroin, motorcycles pose a greater threat to the general populous than drugs and shootings and gangs and hookers combined.  vomit

Oops....I misread that as "within 12".  I guess it pays to develop passable reading comprehension skills, huh?

As to Mayor Marty's drunken whore of a Daughter, why does that predispose him to persecute motorcyclists?  Reckon a herpes ridden, sheep screwin', Jack Daniels swillin' biker forced her into her current streetwalking, crack riddled, workin' in the backseat lifestyle, then abandoned her after smacking Marty in the face with his Johnson?  Was Marty beaten up by the neighbor biker's kids as a youth?  Did they pee in his mouth and tell him it was Mountain Dew, leading him to both hate motorcyclists, yet crave the flavor of a urine cocktail?  Did bikers burn down his family household during his formative years whilst he was experimenting on his younger brother, forcing him to flee into the street wearing only his lacy panties and a leather head mask with a dildo attached to the forehead?  What gives?  I REALLY wanna know!

Hope the moderators don't find this one offensive.   Evil

If you're gonna snip, I'd suggest:

Did they pee in his mouth and tell him it was Mountain Dew?
