i started riding in the dirt when i was about 4 or 5, graduated to street bikes....so i do have a couple miles under my belt. i quit riding almost three years ago when i got hit by a 17 year old kid, while out on a short ride. i was getting married that coming weekend, but couldn't make it because i had a broken tib/fib, three broken ribs, and a broken collar bone. my fiancee (now my wife) asked me to give up motorcycles. i don't know if it was the morphine, or what, but i said i would.

skip forward a few years. we were sitting in the truck at home depot, and a guy rolls up on a s4r. we talk about his bike, and head in to get a few things.

later that night, i decided that i NEED to have a bike. so, i started looking for something i could afford. after a couple of months i found a 99 m750 that had been vandalized. nothing major, torn seat, broken mirrors, the tank had been keyed, gauge cluster smashed, signal broken off, and  the word "asshole" scratched into the seat cowl. told the wife what i was planning, and no complaints. cool!

here is where things get weird. i was at the dealer trying to figure out some things with the parts guy, and some idiot listening to our conversation told me i should buy some hot pink paint for my bike. i got what he was getting at............ i'm riding a girls bike.

this is my first ducati. i have always owned jap bikes. primarily sv650's. i have heard ducati owners were full of themselves, i hope this isn't true.

Pay no attention to crap like that.

You can ride plenty fast on a 750, in the corners, and that's the fun part.

Just enjoy the bike, enjoy your ride.

Maybe the dude has a surplus of hot pink paint that he has to get rid of after painting his bike and was trying to sell it to you.  Ignore the clown, also it would be cool to see before and after pics of your bike once you have it fixed up.

al@sktc

got a ton of before shots. should be finished in a month or two.

psycledelic

What a wiener.  You should have given him your engraved seat cowl.

Fix that bike up and ride the hell out of it.  Can't wait to see some pics.  Good luck man.

Hang out for a bit and decide for yourself. [beer]

Those of us here do tend to be smart, good looking, charming, witty, successfull.....but that has nothing to do with giving someone a hard time about what they ride.   ;D
It's still buy a flounder a drink month

the 750 isn't a girls bike, and the 620 isn't either for that matter...
pay no attention to the dickhead...
it's your bike :)

oh, and hot pink with glitter flake is all the rage on the dmf   ;)

Porsche Monkey

Dood there's plenty of guys on here with 750s.  There's also quite a few on 620s. Ride your own ride. That guy probably just rides to Starbucks.

Anyone who knows anything knows that it's not how fast you get to the twisties, it's how fast you get through the twisties. Well, it's not even that either. It's how much you enjoyed the ride. There is no such thing as a girl's bike unless there's a girl on it or a sissy bar.
ErkZ NOT in SLO w/ his '95 m900!
The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

M900 - Look really close at the clutch.
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.
