you all do know that the first couple pages of this thread, including it's title, would have been locked and/or deleted in a heartbeat if posted by a guy in a more visible area of the board.    In fact I've gotten complaints about posts that were less over the line by people in this very thread.

suggestions of how we handle this?

I personally have no problem with it if the title is changed and some of the posts are cleaned up a bit.

I appreciate you allowing us the chance to discuss this.  Since you're the mod, why don't you tell me/us what's over the line and we can address them point-by-point.  I did look for "rules" about this sort of thing before putting it up there and didn't find any--nothing under FAQs and Policies that I saw.  I went by my previous experience about posting nudity and limited common sense about this type of thing in general.  I get where you're coming from, but I respectfully disagree with your logic.  Feel free to p.m. me as I'd really like to keep the lightheartedness of this thread going if it's allowed to remain.

Thanks,
Heather

I think this is where we're close:

3.1  Members shall not post images or links containing, nudity, partial nudity, sexual acts, or depiction thereof.  This includes pictures for purely sexual purposes.  This isn't a frat house, and the board needs to be work-appropriate.  Pictures of clothed spouses or significant others are ok.  If questionable, images should be linked and not directly visible in a thread. This link, and if possible the thread title, should carry a warning that such material may be NWS = "Not Work Safe".  Links will be deleted if determined to be innapropriate by the moderators.

we get complaints all the time about the boys' comments, and while we all know the ladies can be more graphic, I think it's the comments that change the nature of the thread.

'spank bank' in an umbrella girl post would have gotten a flood of complaints and rightly so.    'I'm going to need a minute and some new batteries'?   How can I say that's fine if I act on complaints about less crude comments form the guys?

Isn't it possible to post and or discuss fit racers and/or significant others without the masturbation references and cat calls?

If we say in the rules it's not a frat house (apologies to the fraternities without that reputation) or construction site, it's got to be not a chip and dales either.

Some of the shots by themselves could be called out but I don't think we would only because it's racers we're talking about (and sig others who ride).
I think it's the combination of pics and comments that sends it over the spirit of the site.

Other admins say just delete it.

I finally found and read through the rules.  Yep, I'm on the line with this thread, although I think the idea of being viewed as a sex object by women really isn't problematic for most men...   laughingdp  Can we have a little time (a couple of days) to link the images and edit some posts?

...and there lies the issue.

We have to maintain a single standard...

I don't believe most women wish to be viewed as a sex object based on complaints I hear.

i agree we have to maintain a single standard... even though i'm not complaining.
i've had some things implied to me over the years, and never once complained to a mod about it...
i can stick up for myself in most cases... and i believe the implications are all in good fun.

i've edited my original posts to link to the shirtless pics of randy and nicky,
even though i don't think those photos cross the line.
you can see shirtless men in any city in the world, right?

is it ok to post up pictures of nicky hayden because he has nice eyes?
because honestly it's his eyes that do it for me, and not his lowrise jeans...

Maybe if we eliminate "spank bank" from the title?  Huh?
