I think I've pared down my contribution to this thread to something more in line with what forum  Police have in mind.  A little more can be done without making the thread totally lame--I trust I will be informed if I need to do that.  Ladies, please help out and remove/edit questionable stuff.  Please don't make me p.m. each of you.   Grin  Give me a holler if you need a little help figuring that out.

...and there lies the issue.

We have to maintain a single standard...

I don't believe most women wish to be viewed as a sex object based on complaints I hear.

It was a joke.... you know, "ha ha."  Let your guard down a bit.  I'm onery, but I really do understand your point here and am not challenging the mods' request. Just because I post online doesn't make me crazy and/or unreasonable.  Smiley

Let's get back to posting, ladies, within the appropriate set of guidelines.   waytogo

I'm guessing that my Toseland picture is the most over the line. I'll need to link it.

Soooo--Techy question here...
The picture is on my hard drive, I don't have the original link anymore. Can I link from my photobucket account?

The picture did come from a non porn magazine as part of a calandar for a charitable foundation.

No tech reason that you couldn't, just don't put it inside the [ img ] tags.

Also ladies, while you are going back and editing, it would be nice to remove "spank bank" from the individual reply titles.

I think Photobucket allows a "link from HTML" or something like that.  That should suffice.

...doesn't matter what the photo is for--can't show it in its full wonderfulness here.  That was the one that I thought was a bit risque' too, but no biggie.  Make sure you let folks know the link ain't for work n stuff.  Thanks!

The Toseland post has been edited. I did leave the shirtless riding picture up because thats just a candid from the pits. I also left the Bostrom pic alone because its the cover of Men's Health.

Let me know if those have to change as well.

It's all cool, I don't mind playing by the rules. Level playing field and all that.  waytogo

Personally, now that I'm gettin' to be an old lady, I don't mind being "objectified" the way I did when I was a hot young thing.  Wink Nobody wants to objectify me anymore, they just want to "talk." <sigh>  Cry

Let me just say, enjoy while it you got it, ladies!

Ladies, you can choose.

I am rather miffed that the place created to be a place where women could get away from the testosterone-full crap to discuss riding is used as a beefcake pinup, but maybe I'm reading it all wrong.

With a thread called spank bank that isn't self moderated I see little reason to have a separate forum.  Is this wrong?   Why couldn't this be in NMC where it would get locked, and everything else in general, riding techniques, tech, etc?

Anyone else want to give it a shot before it goes away?   I think we've already given it more leeway and discussion thn anything else we have had to moderate.

I would kind of like to see the SO part of it stay, and the rest of it can go away (or move into NMC).

Statler, do what you feel is necessary.

I tend to agree there is a bit of double standard occuring.

However, I also feel pictures of good looking men (racers/SO) that are fully clothed are okay.  It is not the whole thread that needs to be eliminated, just the offending pictures/words.   Undecided

I'm a little confused...I thought the offending bits were addressed and we were done.  Is the entire thread concept being challenged now?

I don't have a problem abiding by moderator wishes but it would just be nice if we could get it definitive decision and move on.  If the thread needs to be deleted, then so be it, but that should have been done in the first place.

Several of us have been cooperative and thoughtful in our efforts to appease the authority here and I am confused as to why we're revisiting the issue. I wouldn't have bothered to edit stuff if I knew it was just going to be canned anyways.   Huh?

I'm not on 24/7.

The title hadn't been changed when I looked but was before I posted later and I neglected to look.  But in either event is was quite some time later than the last discussion on the point and spank bank stuck around quite some time.

double standard?   right  (someone else pointed that out) ...we let this go when the same thread from a guy would have just been deleted and we would have 'moved on.'  the double standard worked in your favor which is unfair to others.

some of the female posters obviously have no problems with standing up for themselves and would do just as well on the main forums arguing with the frat boys.  fine.  then post there.

There will allways be a lag in when things are postd and when they are read.   Most of the admins are also getting a feeling of the entire board over a day, so some threads get the gyst of many others....just the way it is...when we deal with lots of people just pushing over the limits we get fed up like anyone else does.

So the thread has been cleaned up by request when the request should never have been needed.

So the title stayed long after we commented on it.

So we continue to comment after you thought we should be all done.

It still worked so much in favor of this thread that I'm one of the few arguing to keep it around.   As a judge told me early in my career...when the ducks are flying in your direction, sit down and shut up.

asking for quick definitive answers from people volunteering to keep this place running smoothly and as happily for as many people as possible is not the best way to go.   Better to let us brew on it for a while and then get bored and ignore it for other things.
