That Nice Guy Beck!

My child's heroes will not be those who want so desperately to not be themselves that they physically desecrate their own bodies.

My child's heroes will not be those who build shrines dedicated to an obsession to not growing up and prevent all access to it by the public, making it creepy and suspicious.  (which is different than being playfull and young at heart).

My child will still appreciate music and arts.

At least that is what I will discuss with her.

the guy was def a creep thats for sure but I speak of the time when thriller came out man oh man it was just magic. sure in his later years the guy went off the deep end, got a tad bit looney, but most celebs on top do... look at what happened to another king of our time .. Elvis Presly, another legend that to this day peole go ga ga for. I'm a music nutt, I have a room filled with vinyl, I enjoy it all, from 70's rock to hip hop to NYC house music, blues, jazz to punk rock and even a little bit of country!!!! i simply love love love music and regardless of his creepiness MJ was a part of that for me, so with him gone its like a piece of my child hood has died.

I have a hard time being emotionally invested in other people's verdict on him either - I don't care.  But I have noticed that people that provide a summary judgement one way or another do so based on how they feel either about MJ or about child molesters, and not about the actual cases.  I really don't see a whole lot in the way of debate about facts - these are verdicts based on emotion.  Child molestation is one of those issues where accusation is about the same as verdict.  And why not?  Why would we run even the slightest risk of having someone predate our children?

That being said, I am with Beck.  Everything I have seen suggest that Jackson, while deeply weird, was more likely the victim of gold bricking parents than those children a victim of Jackson.

Both thats being said, I think the acid test for Jackson being pedo or not pedo is whether you would let your kids sleep over at Neverland -  my answer is no.  The kids would not have spent any time there.

and for that I am sorry, and I understand, I and I will raise a glass in respect for the positive influence he had for you and the sorrow you suffer.

The most disturbing thing is the children could identify and describe what his penis looked like. Not sure how you could do that if you didn't see it. Sick sick sick man.

it's a penis.. it's not like there's a whole lot of variation there.

(tread lightly, this may be a trap  ;D)

I'd rather a thousand times over listening to hank williams (sr) than anything associated with Michael Jackson.

REAL country is much different than what gets played on "country" radio.

that makes me think of what some friend and i were talking about.

music is apart of our souls we all can relate to some sort of genre, certain song, ect

but when one of these "icons" die it kind feels like a piece of soul is gone...

ya sounds cheese yet true, im with ya im huge music fan and learn about new stuff all the time.....

music is music! good or bad, like or dislike...personal lives i could give a 2w cents about....if the music gets my mojo going then im happy  ;D
