Metal.

You can use any kind of oil, there is no magic gun oil.  We are just talking about rubbing it down.  So called Gun Oil is just thin weight motor oil.

The point is to polish it.  Using a thinner oil makes it easier.  You can even use something like 3 in 1.  I would use a dry film lube because it doesn't need to be wiped off, but if you use castrol 5w30 it will be fine.

Again, thank you for the info...

I'll probably stay away from the Castrol, though...  ;)

Did ya happen to remember what the name of that gooooood smelling lube?

I've always loved the smell of grease and oil...  When my uncle cleaned his carbines and pistols, I would watch and enjoy the smells.   :)

the stuff I was thinking of isn't a lube, it's a finish wipedown for storage.  i just can't remember the name, but it might have been one of the birchwood casey oils.  it came in an oldschool metal tin with a squeeze nozzle on top.

i would just use eezox.  it is a wipedown but also a lube.  it smells good too lol

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Thanks for the tip.   [thumbsup]

Are you talking about the stock, too, or just the metal bits?

When you say oil up some newspaper, you are talking about regular gun oil, right?

I don't want to mess this beauty up...   :-\

Sell it to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I'm still digging (no pun intended ;)) the whole moat idea. An idea that needs to be revised and discussed. [thumbsup] Zombies have serious troubles dealing with moats. It's a fact. ;D

OK... back to pics. I really need to get a camera some day to join the fun.

Picked up a H&K HK91 today for a steal, purchased in the late 70s and was NEVER fired.  Im debating whether to take her out for a few rounds or keep it crispy and new...

LUST!!!

And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Nice score. Tip #1: Track down an A2 stock, the A3 collapsible will beat the shit out of you. It's tolerable on the .223 HK93 but the .308 HK91 is not so much fun. I have an A3 stock on the MP5 which looks all groovy and cool in it's little soft case but I still drag along the A2 stock when I actually want to shoot it. Even more true with the 91. Just saying...

Still, great find and I hope the price was just as great! [thumbsup] [bacon]

$450? No shit? You could have added $1,000 or $2,000 to that and I wouldn't have flinched. That's the deal of a freaking lifetime. What little old clueless grand mother did you scam to get that deal? [laugh]
