Don't you have to carry now to make comments like "I will never carry another gun..."
where do you hide that tank?   What holster?    It shows zero wear.

Yes, you do. Ohio has finally changed their law enough to where I find it decent enough to invest in the 12hr course and the money involved to be a permit holder, plus give up certain rights which I don't feel I should. Your license plate number is tied to your permit, so when you get pulled over, the LEO already knows you can/could have a gun. I don't care for that.

I prefer to use the Uncle Mike's soft style inside the pants/shorts option to carry. It is the thinnest holster I could find when I bought the HK and have used it ever since. Therefore, if you are familiar with this product, it wouldn't show holster wear as it is soft.

That's fine, your opinion of how my guns are used are really of no interest to me.

Yeah, since I have been in Ohio (for the few brief times I was back in IN with my CCW), it has been in my house or transported to the range.

However, when I was a valid CCW holder, the gun was always with me or next to me in my car when legally possible.

got a quesiton what is it with the glocks that everyone likes? sure they may work well, but the plasticy look really doesn't hold much "style" or craftsmanship to it.

the compensator porting on the barrel is a handy feature  :)

*disclaimer* totally novice shooter speaking

but during the class, the best groupings I had on paper were shooting w/the glock

also what is the deal with the 1911 45 that you guys like? is it more for tradition?

I am not much of a Glock fan myself. I did used to own one, it jammed with <200 rounds so I sold it.

The Glock pictured in my post is my wife's; that was her birthday present this year. She grew up shooting on the Glock .45 platform, so that is what she is most comfortable with.

I am not sure of the 1911 obsession either. I know they are nice guns and from what I have read, quite reliable. I am just not a fan. I have shot them and didn't "not" enjoy the experience, just don't know if I would buy one or not.

I know lots on here love the 1911, so I am probably missing something.

I know former member Sinister is a big 1911 fan and that is his standard carry piece.

Every semi jams. If you sold a firearm simply because it jammed once you wouldn't own any firearms. That's why you carry two. "Two is one, one is none". A jam can be caused by poor quality ammo, dirty ammon, dirty firearm, or a limp wrist. That being said, I'm not a glock fan either.

Can't the jamming also be a function of needing to break in? My s&w-made ppk jammed numerous times in the first 150 rounds. Since then, I've fired at least a thousand more without a single jam.

the gun was clean, I was only a clip or two into shooting when it happened.

Wrist was not limp. I believe I was shooting AMC or UMC, can't recall the name but i do know the box is yellow.

Regardless, I sold the gun and bought the HK, where according to some, it has been boxed and never used.

Every semi I have ever shot will "stove pipe" from time to time. It is no big deal. It's nothing more than an immediate action drill.  [thumbsup]

You would think that our friend Cyrus lives in Iraq. When I was there I did not feel like I needed a fortress to protect me. Anyway, I would have welcomed his arsenal when I was living in Miami.
