I'm sorry. I don't get to decide what range he is at. If you could give me a schematic on this, it could come in handy. I mean from behind the keyboard you should be able to figure this out for me.

All apologies. I had no intention of coming across as a know-it-all ass.

I'm quite happy to submit to real world experience.

No apologies necessary. Some here (few) have been in real world combat. Some just own a bunch of guns.
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

We don't use shotguns in CQB in the Military. Period. Only as a breaching tool.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Whomever might you be referring to? I always defer to my brothers, which have used guns extensively in their preferred line of work.

If I were personally clearing rooms, I think a nice semi auto shogun or Saiga would be better than a high powered rifled.

But again, I am not military nor have I ever been, so I could be entirely wrong, just thought a shotgun would be best with some 00 buck in it.

I thought the M14 (M1A or any other springfield variant that shoots a 7.69x51 or .308) was used as a short-mid range sniper gun. At least in Delta it was used by the sharpshooters in the Mog in the early 1990's (no, not basing it off the movie. I've read the book a few times, which is highly accurate from also reading Micahel Durant's book).

I would ask my other brother, but I have no way to reach him at the moment.
