One thing I despise about brand new Glocks.

The slide is damn near impossible to get off until you shoot it.

I spent like 20 minutes trying to get the slide off my Glock 33 (sub compact .357).

Wife's .45 has been shot, no issues getting that one off.

The Model 22 I owned in college.......couldn't get that slide off til I shot it either.

Anyone else experience this or am I just a pussy and post in the nobody gives a shit thread?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Shot once or shot lots of times?

Just a normal trip to the range and then I breakdown and clean when I get home.

I think maybe 100rnds were fired through my old Glock 22.

I can't imagine parts would need to wear in on a modern made gun, but maybe they do?

I have no idea.

I am going to make the beast with two backs around with it again.

It is starting to bother me I can't get it off.

I have/had several Glocks and never had a problem breaking them down when new. Interesting. I also break down a new gun and give it a good once over and barrel cleaning before the first round. I certainly have had one or two that were slightly more difficult but none ever totally refused. Hope you get it figured out. [thumbsup] Maybe they just want you to go shoot them!! [laugh]

had some fun with the Mosin Nagant this weekend.

I ordered a POSP 8x42 scope, and a adapter for ak style side mount.

spent a few hours yesterday afternoon riggin the reciver up in my drill press, slowing getting the damn drill bit to bite into the rounded surface, then tapped the screws out and bolted the bracket on.. then installed the scope on the reciver and spent the next two hours slowy cutting away the stock till it all fit tight.

the end results.

the end results, after spending 1 hour readign over the poorly translated instructions that came with the scope, I decided just to screw with it till I got it figured out. windage was almost dead on, elevation was screwy but I got it set dead on at 100 yards. then took aim on out to 350 yards some on left a small white piece of metal about 2'x 2', clicked the elevation to "2" BANG, just a bit low, clicked it up to 2.5 and BANG..... DING!  8) ;D  hit it about 5 more times just to be sure.  [evil]

very happy with this set up.. oh, and the eye cup.. its just to protect it, I tried shooting using the damn thing and it was welcome to flinch city. took it off and it was much easier.

now I just need to turn that bolt down. its a little hard to work with the scope their but not impossible.

bend it to 45 and i bet it works better

oh yeah, I know, I just couldn't find a piece of stainless even close to the same size anywhere yesterday, it needs to be made longer as well as bent. its to short to just bend (thats what she said  [laugh])

GAAN

is that the original charging handle?

(is it called a charging handle on a bolt action?)

I wonder how difficult it would be to make an extention and have it at an insert proper degree here angle?

on a side note that thing looks like it hurls boulders

ducatiz

bolt handle on a mosin cannot be bent.  the steel is hardened to like 9 million rockwell.  it will break.

you might be able to anneal it, bend it and then re-heat treat it, but i don't evne know what alloy they used so no idea what temp to heat treat it at.  i doubt they even used any known alloy, probably changed from day to day.

Damn, is that scope on the Mosin Nagant tall enough?? Does that work for you?? I can't see a decent cheek weld with a scope that high. Obviously it must work for you. Nice job on the machine and drill work. [thumbsup] Cool rifles!
