That Winchester 1300 design is my favorite pump shotgun.  I think I have over a half dozen of them.  I can run them faster than any other pump shotgun.  1300's have won me a pile of shotgun combat matches, killed deer, ducks, geese, pheasants, grouse, woodcock, and especially ...wabbits!  I think my fastest time at the 2nd Chance Combat Shoot on 8 bowling pins was 3.8 or 3.9 seconds - those guns are quick.

The only thing I don't like about their tactical model is the short corncob pump handle.  I think it makes you extend your pump hand out too far for speed and comfort.  I found a longer, synthetic pump handle and installed it.  The only problem with that is it precludes using a sidesaddle for extra shells as the longer pump handle comes back around the sides of the receiver at the back of the pump stroke.

Another issue is using them in extremely cold weather.  A couple of times hunting grouse in Northern Wisconsin between 20 to 30 below 0F, they would lock up hard.  Of course the only time that will be an issue is if your are stupid enough to be trudging around in the snow in those kind of conditions.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

Got a surprise new addition last night.  I'll post a pic sometime this evening...if I ever get home, that is.

If you look at the unmounted stock, you can see a cavity that holds extra shells in the stock.  Shells are held in with spring tension.

I did see that.

What I was wondering is if it was just for storage.

I personally like Side Saddle carriers mounted on the receiver. Maintains the balance of the shotgun and if you are right handed it allows you to maintain a constant firing condition while your left hand draws the out the rounds for a tactical load.

Nice shotgun.

All the money made on people buying stuff for "tactical" reasons cracks me up.

The newest addition.  An early Xmas present.

LMT MRP Defender 16"

I guess it was originally just going to be the upper to go on the lower I already have but the price came out to be roughly the same after putting it together, so it turned into the whole rifle.  I just need to change the stock and trigger.

I'm thinking this means my original lower is going to end up as an SBR.

I think most folks would probably never find themselves in a "tactical" situation anyhow

and if they did

I doubt their "tactical" gear would help them much

Maybe true, maybe not.  BUT, I will say that I have a light mounted to each weapon that I own that may ever be grabbed during a defensive situation.

You can't have a pic only thread...

We don't do this with any other topic...

Some people like pic only threads and some don't care. Some will take the time to google pics if there's just discussion about a particular item.

We kind of do that with the Misc cool Eyetalian bikes. Sure there's the brief...I like that...or...that's  [puke] discussion but it stays basically as a pic thread.

It's really about what the people that participate in/follow this thread want. You guys let me know. I'll pull the trigger. ;D

Well, this is Trey's thread, so I think he should have a say as to whether or not it gets merged...
