I was a real estate broker for 6 years in SoHo in NYC.
let me tell you, the prices are INSANE.
I rented an apartment to the actor "stanley tucci"
rent was $25,000 a mo for a loft on Crosby street (actually the bldg was owned by lenny kravitz)
you cant step your foot in Manhattan for anything under 1500 for something decent.
Last deal I did in 2006 was at "the corinthian" bldg built in the 80's - breath taking views of the empire state bldg

900 sf
1 million dollars...

Retarded.

I think you should make lots...

you'll have lots of friends then...

or rather...

leeches.

Then you can be just like your idol.

I have a lot of friends sir, why are you picking on me? ???
I didnt bother you or say anything wrong to you or any members.
you are making fun of me because - I like MJ?
or because I said money is important?

have you ever had a single mom that has no money and is very sick? no dad around or food on the table??
I'm proud of myself that I busted my balls at 18 years old to rise to the top to give her and my 15 year old brother EVERYTHING.
so when I say money is everything you dont have to insult me or pick on me or bring up michael jackson - because to me without it, we would not survive.
friends come and go they dont pay your bills sir.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I'm saying your priorities are skewed IMO.

I think you're wrong...not making fun of you.

I think you make outrageous statements....I'm making fun of them.

its always about the money.

When you've lived a little longer you'll understand how silly that is and where I'm coming from.

Some people just don't get it. Remember, we are dealing with someone that seriously considers the death of MJ to be on the same level as the tradegy of 9-11.

My opinion: Money makes things easier but it does not make you happy. It doesn't hurt and I am happy to receive what I receive but in the last hours of your life, on your deathbed, you aren't going to regret not buying that 911 or M3, you are going to want your family and friends around and that's it.

I think it depends somewhat on where you put them in the first place...

no?

Welll......one guy I know used to tell me once you made the ends meet.....they move the ends....so perhaps where you put them is moot?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

True. At 19 I could live on $1K a month and I was happy. Now I can barely live on 10x that and am not any happier then I was then.

Thats a fact.

From what I remember DMF'ers didn't hook old what's his name with $1 for a ring. But I guess it didn't make Beck's list so it doesn't count.  :P

Money? Eh, it's not about how much you have or how much you make? It's about doing what makes you happy.

You want to make 11ty billion dollars? F*ck it, as long as your happy go and do it.

You want to paint 11ty billion motos? F*ck it, as long as it makes you happy.

You want to dissect other's posts into mockery for all to see? F*ck it, as long as it make you happy.

Me? I'm living a miserable life compared to everyone making $11ty billion sheckels. (is that right Beck? never used that term but sounds cool) But I'm living MY life the way I want to, THAT's what make me happy.  [thumbsup]  Money just makes me look cool doing it.  8)

Ya, but if NYC real estate prices weren't so insane, New Yorkers wouldn't want to live there because then they couldn't legitimize their existence by discussing how much money they spend on their apartment/parking/ building's dry cleaning service, etc. That's what I gathered from my time in NYC, any way.

Some dummy in Boston just bought a parking spot for $300,000. :o For a bloody parking spot!  I think I be real happy when I'm what I like to call private jet rich.........

Right now I live on next to nothing and I couldn't be much happier. Well maybe a new streetfighter would make me a bit happier. ;D
