i dont want to sound stupid but is the exhaust for a monster 750 the same as a 00 750ss??

Short answer is "maybe".
Depends on the year of the M750, the exhaust mods(If any) to both bikes, and how much of the exhaust you're trying to compare/switch.
I would expect the cans to interchange without any trouble and the headers would also probably interchange, but I'm not certain about the midpipe + crossover.
Why are you interested?

if its an 00 monster then yeah maybe.

I had 600ss headers on my monster and they fit and match up to a monster end can.

if youre talking about cans then i wouldnt have thought so as the mount higher up on an ss.
