I just remembered this thread and had to provide my input.

I read the book because I was curious about all the hype. When I was done, I reached the conclusion that Democracy is no longer a viable form of government in America. A police state is needed if the country is to be saved from its own stupidity.

I thought you read the book because you were stuck on an island for two weeks with your sister's books and the good books I gave you ran out too fast?

What is LDS? Vampires are supposed to be sexual creatures! 

I agree with Yuu, these books were obviously written for adolescent girls, who have always been and will always continue to be, the lowest common denominator of societal standards. Puberty is tough. Fine. Decent excuse. The popularity growth beyond the intended audience is disturbing. Do these people ever stop to think the are putting money in the pockets of a talent-less excuse for a story-teller (much less a writer) and thus, setting off a downward spiral that places these books in "mainstream literature" on the same racks that Hemingway and Fitzgerald once filled?! Terrifying.
