Not a monster, but pretty awesome none the less. I'd like to park this next to a Troy Bayliss 1098 in the garage of my dreams :)

I thought for sure i would order one. I have been a Hayden fan since he raced in AMA. but when I first heard about it before the unveiling the price I heard was around 15,000 given it was from a guy at DNA i figured he meant 15,900 like all there other prices so I thought we were getting an 848S finally. but a regular 848 with some diffrent paint just is not doing it for me. Nicky is still my favorite rider but a plane jane 848 just doesn't get me excited.

I'm a fan of Nicky's, but I feel he should accomplish a little more (like winning a few races) before they have a special edition motorcycle named after him.

to expensive you cant beat the value of an S the forks alone cost over 1,000 bucks mabey later a can find a used one in a year or so and put the plastics on a 1098/1198S that would be more my speed

The Nicky Hayden Edition is the first of the 2010 model year 848's to arrive in the United States but apart from the custom paint scheme is otherwise stock. The 2010 Ducati 848 Nicky Hayden Edition is priced at $14,495 and available at authorized Ducati dealerships this coming week.

It basically boils down to 500 extra bones for a custom paint job, different mirrors, and different cam belt tensioners.  While that's a pretty decent deal, I'd much rather drop 500 on something more impressive than "custom" paint.

meh- I'm a big fan of Nick Hayden but not of race replicas, signature bikes, or any other commemorative vehicles. Remember those 'Official Pace Car of the Indy 500' edition cars from the 80's? LOL If you get something like that you had better be sure it appreciates. The Indy models usually went for less on the used market than the ordinary cars because they were so beyond the pale of stupid. You would see them all the time for sale but nobody in their right mind wanted an Official Indy Pontiac Sunfire. Who wants to drive around with 'Official Pace Car of the Indy 500' plastered all over their car in checkered flags like it was some kind of badge of honor or something stupid like that? Who cares about the Indy 500? Why would anyone want to ride around with all those sponsor names plastered on their bikes like this guy with his Repsol Honda I saw the other day? To each their own I suppose.

The only way I'd pay extra for a stock 848 paint job, would be if I crashed my own 848 and needed to get it repainted, hence the extra money.  Now if it was a 848S, that would be something totally different.
It's been real, it's been fun, it's been real fun!

OK, I am also a Hayden fan. I have a RC51 Hayden Rep, not so much because of him but because it's the best looking RC of them all. But that post really cracked me up! [laugh] That's a good one!

I'd give anything to see the Kid get on a podium this year. But I am worried that isn't going to happen. So much for high hopes. One thing is for sure, it's not for a lack of effort on his part. He's a hard worker and doesn't run his mouth and blame everyone else. Forget the podium, I'd just like to see him kick Pedrobot's ass in every race!

It would have been nice if he had won a race or two THEN offer the replica bike. It would make more sense. I also agree that it should have been the new 848S version. The upgrades would be worth the extra $$$.
