To bump my mileage and to practice cornering I go on solo rides in addition to group rides and track days.
Today was on typical backroads a couple of hours away from the capitol Oslo. I get up early to avoid traffic.
This scenery isn't as dramatic as the western or northern parts of my country, but nice roads and very little traffic.

One hour outside Oslo it looks like this. Short ferry stretch from Verket to Svelvik. The busy city is already behind me

Next three pictures: A second world war memorial stone outside a small community church, and a view up the valley

Further up stream there is this place where they used to make a coloring material, called cobolt, a dark intense blue. I think it was one of only a few places world wide where it could be found. Blaafarveverket

This is the ski jumping hill of Vikersund. It's actually called ski flying hill - they do over 700 feet jumps here

At last, the perfect combo for trips like this waytogo

Stopintime, your country is so beautiful. Your bike is nice looking too. Thanks for the very nice picture.

It looked like you spent a lot of time taking photos ....not riding on such a pretty day.

What was the warmest it got during the day ? In degrees please if you will.

What is the speed limit on your 2 lane major highways ?

Not that you would spend any time on them .

How about main country roads ?

When does the Snow come ?

Nice pics.  waytogo    Ferskt Rugbrod?

Freshly baked bread, rye.

Nice pics.

What type of route was it ?  lots of curves etc ?

I realize there wasn't actually any pictures of the roads Tongue
As few highway miles as possible, choosing the local roads which seems to be a detour from village to village. The locals will choose the fastest route - I choose the long way, and see little traffic. It's very seldom I get held back by traffic waytogo Norwegian back roads were constructed away from the flat parts where people had to take advantage of the little farm land we have - typically up in the valley sides, thus very curvy!

Thank you - it has the suspension to match my riding, and me, too Wink

It looked like you spent a lot of time taking photos ....not riding on such a pretty day.
                Managed both waytogo

What was the warmest it got during the day ? In degrees please if you will.
Unusually warm for a few weeks here - middle 90s F. 70s are more normal.

What is the speed limit on your 2 lane major highways ?
                How should I know Grin (62.5 mph / 100kmh)

Not that you would spend any time on them .
                Correct.

How about main country roads ?
                 50mph / 80kmh

When does the Snow come ?
                  Mountains, October. Oslo, Dec/Jan

Makes me envious we don't have those kinds of roads or scenery within an hour of Sydney.
An hours ride and you are still in the suburbs looking at traffic lights.
Lovely snaps too.

Not exactly, Lillestrøm is 15 minutes east/north east - Vikersund is 45 minutes west/south west.
